That was the worst sports Injury I've ever seen

Louisville was affected right away, and now has come back. It will be interesting to see what halftime does. I am rooting for them now.

This is one instance where I would like to see the halftime talk the coach gives. What do you say to a team after that?

I know that doesn't normally just happen but if you watch the players after that they look a little off on their landings. The Louisville players kept falling to the ground after landing.

I think the Dave Dravechy talk has to be pretty spot on.... there HAS to be some sort of underlying problem there.

It was ugly but nowhere near as ugly as some of the neck injuries in football. That dude won't play ball again but it ain't like he's paralyzed or anything.

Neck injuries ain't so stomach churning, its more like a knockout they just don't get up from.

Exactly. Legs just don't snap like that. Neck injuries in the long run are much worse. You just don't know how bad with those until after testing. This you know right away how bad it is.

I get what you're saying, duff. Seeing bones in unnatural positions really gives one the heebee jeebees, but a paralyzing neck injury would be just as stomach churning. If he had fallen and broken his neck and someone would have had to start doing rescue breathing for him...we all would have been barfing knowing what that meant.

...and what makes it worse...is that it's basketball. We're so close to the action, you can see the kid's face, etc. Those no pile of bodies, pads, etc. He's right there, in front of his teammates. nasty stuff.

I guess if you don't have any knowledge of physiology that's true. Nothing freaks me out like seeing a bad neck injury. That leg injury, meh. He'll be okay.

I didn't see the injury but from what you guys are saying it sounds like both tibia and fibula. Our QB/Safety did that on our first defensive play against a rival our senior year. Seeing the injury, the leg flopping around, and the unreal screams coming from him made it pretty hard to go back out and play. I think we ended up losing that game 6-7. He was in a wheel chair for quite awhile as well.
