Ah, but you know he'll just rip Iowa for barely scraping by a 4-win Minnesota team at home. Bank on it. Oh well, who cares what that blowhard has to say.
 
Actually, doesn't that mean he's following ESPN's official FPI rating they use? The same one used by Heather Dinich all the time? Since it includes SOS for future games, Iowa technically can't finish higher than #13, even if they win out, including the B10 CCG and the playoffs.

Cowherd only cares about ratings and getting the most people he can get, to listen to his drivel. He only wants 4 teams that are from states with large populations. Or any SEC team, because he's been pimping them so long. He's an imbecile that talks out both sides of his hole.
 
He's clearly trolling Iowa fans and they are falling for it. He gets paid to say ridiculous and controversial things. See Skip bayless or Stephen A Smith or PTI even sometimes. This type of drivel is standard practice now for "shock value" and gets people riled up and talking about his show. Not sure why people are surprised by it. Howard Stern has been doing it for years.
 
I think Cowherd is a self absorbed tool, but I also don't think Iowa is a top 4 team. I'm enjoying this season as much as anyone so far, and I think this is a very good team that seems to have great chemistry and a knack for doing what it takes to win games. I don't think they fall too far out of the top 4 but that's largely because there really aren't any dominant teams in the country this year. Honestly I think Alabama is the best team in the country not Clemson. I don't know that OSU is a top 4 team either and think Iowa would have an excellent shot of knocking them off in the Big 10 championship game.

Of course what I or any empty headed sports talk guy thinks is irrelevant; if the Hawks win out they'll be in the playoff. How awesome would that be? I had them as a 7 win team coming into the season.
 
He knows what he's selling..conflict and irritation. Hell, he said it openly on the ad clips hyping is new show since getting kicked to the curb by ESECPN. Not unlike reality TV, he knows there are enough people that'll buy it...that's all that matters.

Just win baby. Screw the critics.

Ol' Heather has Iowa as her #6 now and agreed with May and Butch Davis (#5) that they are in if the run the tables.

Agreed, I saw that his ratings have plummeted since his ouster from ESPN. He's trolling Iowa fan as he knows we're a passionate fan base. Media whore he is.

College Football Sunday had Faul Pinebaum join them for a segment and they were all giving him crap about Iowa and how the fans aren't happy with him. He commented jokingly, that "Well, I do have Iowa in my top 25 now", and kind of chuckled when saying it. It's kind of funny when when it's know across his peers about his angst against Iowa.

Yep, both he & Pinebaum know Iowa has a large & passionate fan base and a good following, so they know they will get people tuning in.
