That must be one hell of a concussion

I still have a hunch that Cade was banged up before the NW game even started. The plan was to let Cade play in the 1Q, and if it was clear he could not continue, then bring in Sullivan and let him finish the game.

Kinda like in 2021 when Spencer petras started against NW even though he was hurt. When it become obvious Petras could not throw, they brought in Padilla to finish the game.

Regardless of my crazy theories, it is clear to me that the Iowa coaching staff is not being fully transparent about Cade's condition, whatever is really going on.

Hey, concussions are tough, remember Kurt Warner got so tired of them he walked away from a $10 million contract and quite football.

And, hey, Arizona having ocean front property with climate change and earthquakes is not out of the realm of possibilities.

Ended CJ Fiedorowicz career in its prime..

He is the patriarch of modern Tight End U, him or Moeaki

I remember when Cooper Dejean got his bell rung against Nebraska a couple of years ago. My initial thoughts were, how many more shots can he take, before he taps out. Obviously, every individual is different, but I wish there was a magic number and/or diagnosis where you could say it is over and move on.

Maybe that's why Coop went pro maybe a year early. Grab the money while you can and run...........

I was at the NW game.

I watched as Cade walked off the field for the last time and watched Ferentz grab Cade around the neck and talk to him.

You could immediately tell from Cades reaction that he was getting pulled.

I’m sure there are photos or videos out there capturing this brief conversation and I can promise you that logic says it has nothing to do with a concussion.

If you watch the first two series with Sullivan in the game, there is no way in hell that the plays called were scripted. That tells me that the coaching staff wasn’t prepared at that point to have Sullivan in running plays.

Are you sure it wasn't "Coach, I'm fine. My head hurts a little but I'm a D1 athlete and am competitive as hell and have the determination and drive to play through it. Leave me in dammit."

It was stated and well known before the game that Sullivan was going to get a series in the first half and second one in the first or second half. I don't know if the plays were scripted or not, but he was going to play, injury to Cade or not.

I've seen Tua knocked out with his arms frozen twice now and he is still playing. Whether that is wise or not is between him and his family. Everyone recovers differently. From my armchair it seems like most guys miss a couple weeks in concussion protocol and then are released. Doesn't shock me that CM is sitting this week. I suspect he will be active again before the end of the year. That said, maybe he calls it a career.

That's BS.

That convo could have been about anything and it's been said numerous times by numerous staff that Sullivan and CM knew before the game that Sullivan was getting a series.

As I posted a week ago in another thread, the conversation could have been, "Cade, we were going to play Sully anyway, but you just took a hell of a hit. Let's get you checked out by the Doc, but you are done for the day."

CJF is often forgotten about.. He'd just signed an extension after his rookie contract was up. Dude was coming into his own and bam... I haven't heard much about CJ for awhile now either hope he's doing alright.

You could easily make the argument that it started with Marv Cook. If we are thinking a little bit later, I'd go with Dallas.
