CTE is real. No doubt. I don't think it is any of our place to judge when guys play or not or for how long. The doctors should explain the risks and each person decides what is best for his and his family. I will say you don't see a lot of reported evidence of CTE from playing college and high school alone. I am sure it exists, but the reported really bad cases like Kosas, McMahon and others seems to be in the NFL veterans.THIS^^^
Anyone who feels otherwise should watch an interview with Bernie Kosar or Jim McMahon.
Every football player knows the risks of playing the sport. They have taken about as much head violence out of the sport as they can, but it will always be an inherent risk. If a young man wants to take that risk for glory, or money or whatever, and the risk is known, that is there choice, not mine. I don't ride motorcycles because my ER friends call them "donorcycles" but I am not about to tell someone else they can't ride.
