that last drive of the game

Miller was right. Until Iowa did what they did vs. Indiana two games in a row would he believe that KF/GD burned the old playbook.

It looks like the old playbook was reprinted with retractions.

I can't believe the ineptness it takes to not spike the ball on first down when you have to go 70 yards in 40 seconds. You simply can not let 10 seconds run off the clock. If you can't pick up a 1st down in the next 3 downs you have no chance to win anyway. Horrible.

Too risky to throw the ball downfield that last drive. An interception there would have lost the game.

Not only did we not spike the ball.... rudock LOOKED TO THE SIDELINE...

For F**** sake you have to be kidding me.

That's incompetence period by all parties... straight up incompetence.

By a 20 year big ten coach and a pre-med QB.

But they couldn't understand something a 9 year old could.

It's beyond words.

Ruddock over analyzes every play, with the passing plays being the worst. If the receiver isn't completely wide open, panic sets in. Which leads me to believe he doesn't believe he can squeeze the ball into a tight window. He doesn't have the arm strength.

It's not the players. it's the coaching. Too much talent to be this bad. Maryland is very average. And Iowa is just good enough to beat the mediocre teams.

It could have been worse I guess. He could have audibled to a run right.

Yep. It's beyond words.

Face it. Iowa was getting blown out anyway.

Iowa needs a bye week after every game so the coaching staff can scout against itself and go away from tendencies.

For the record, those guys on the side that last week we heard were playmakers are called wide RECEIVERS. not wide DECOYS.

My favorite play was after we got a 1st down and the clock was running... Rudock looks to the sideline for the play as 10 secs run of the clock... then we throw an inc 5 yard hitch.

I just don't know how Kirk ever has managed to do what he has done.

He time and time again comes across as an utter moron to me in game management situations.

Hahahahaha!

Hawks pulled no punches in showing our weaknesses to the entire nation. We lost to a very average football team today.... And we now officially know we are a below average team. Wow. Rarely do I find myself laughing ... As in comical and sarcasm at the same time.

Yeah, I am getting close to calling it and changing hawkins dr. to KF way and moving on. It is getting a little stale.

Not sure you see any other TEAM in the country with game on the line do what Iowa did there today. Amazingly sad stuff. Most intelligent thing Galloway said all day was at the end. Said something to the effect of take a chance even if it means you throw a interception your about to lose the game anyway, got to try something take a shot. I don't get this 5 yard passes?.

What really kills me is that the Goofers managed a come from behind win against our old arch rival the Boilermakers. I am at a loss of words to describe what I just saw. The cutback was working so we change it up? I thought JR was a smart kid - instead we see a 2nd year starter making multiple boneheaded decisions w/ the game on the line. The bigger question is "Where was CJB"? Should have been in after the first failed drive in the 3rd qtr. KF would look smart playing him no matter which way things turned out.

Could there have been any less sense of urgency by Jake? No timeouts and the clock running and he takes 10-15 seconds to snap the ball while he is calling out the protections on a 3 man rush? Then throw over the middle short of the sticks? I do not get it. Not shots downfield to Powell or Smith to see if we can get lucky and pick up big yardage. We needed at least one throw to the end zone to have any chance at tying.

Oh well this a very bad football program something we all knew.

France maybe??

We r who we r. It's not who we planned to be and it's not pretty. Gonna need some work and the right changes. JR is a great kid but he is not a division 1 qb. Maryland did a nice job and we got to see how the coaching staff would handle adversity and a need to show their skills at game management. They were not up to the task in a winnable situation. Outplayed and out coached. A true team loss.

Jake is a D1 qb. I think he could win a national championship at a team like Alabama (along with about 50 other qb's). He is just not a good fit for this team. We need a qb that can make plays.

Maryland has a bad pass defense and Rudock was looking down field all day and couldn't find anyone. That means one of 2 things. Our receivers are so bad that they can never get open against a bad secondary, or Rudock can't find them. I have my guess as to which one it is.
