that last drive of the game

It's not the players. it's the coaching. Too much talent to be this bad. Maryland is very average. And Iowa is just good enough to beat the mediocre teams.

Sorry but that dog don't hunt. It is definitely the coaching AND it is definitely the players. JR was short arming and bouncing balls up the field on that last drive. He missed throws my 6 year old nephew would have trouble missing. KMM dropped a TD, the O-line got stomped by an undersized (and very average) Maryland D and the defense gave up 38 points to MARYLAND. This wasn't Miss. St. or Oregon today...it was that East Coast powerhouse Maryland.

Not that this really matters but the drop by KMM only cost us about 5 seconds of game clock.

That is what is aggravating. Some guys have a short leash where others screw up and play game after game.

KMM should not be a number one receiver period. He does not have the ability to make plays against good competition. He is more suited for a slot, over the middle possession receiver but yet he gets the number WR spot on the depth chart because he is a SR and has played a lot.

Add up KMM's big plays and then do Smith & Powell's. Compare the opportunities and you might notice something.

I am using KMM but this is the case at other positions as well. It does not take too much of this stuff and you are a mediocre program, losing to bad teams and have a heck of a time recruiting play makers.

Like I said that last drive was on both the coaches and the players...

Head coach with 20 years in the Big ten looking like a total noobie/clueless...

And a so called "Einstein QB" looking like a confused 8 year old..

It was both of them... and probably others.

I blame Ferentz more tho... Ruddock hasn't been doing it for 20 years.

It's monumental incompetence.

Oh gawd, I still can't get over throwing the ball over the middle for 3 yards when you have no time outs and need to go another 70 yards.

I laugh every time I think of this drive.
