Read soooooo many different bloggers bashing him and saying how everyone caught up to him BUT the kid, was, is and always will be one of the true Hawkeye greats. He has an injury that has been serious for sometime now and needs surgery. If you don't believe me, well, check him out after the season and you'll see the proof. He GUTTED out this tourney and I, for one, want to say thanks to McD and wish you the best. I know he's hurting and hate that his senior year ended the way it did but true Hawk fans appreciate the effort!!!!!
 
I'm with ya buddy! He's one of the greats and I know of the injury you are speaking of. I was told to keep it hush, hush on the message boards. Too bad because he would have cleaned the floor with these guys.

How do you know about this injury exactly?
 
For starters everyone in Des Moines right now knows about his injury bc people are talking and two I was suppose to keep my mouth shut but this **** talking about McD was too much!!!
 
I doubt they'll make excuses though but quite honestly I'm not sure how the hell he wrestled through it this year.

It's good that you don't say what's really going on. I wouldn't want the internet police to get you for spreading facts. There has obviously been something wrong with McDonough this season. He's just not himself.

As for everyone ragging on the wrestlers...they need to get a life. The comments coming out of the session 3 thread are some of the most pathetic things I have read in a long time on this site.
 
He had a good run and made us proud. It is to bad this year went the way it did. I never bashed any one person (it is a team sport), and he did take a knock on the brow today, but I did not know he had something else going on. I was less than impressed with some of his mates meets today.

Oh I did not realize I was supposed to give them a parcipitation trophy. OK then good try, better luck next time, you'll get em next time, any more you want me to say? My hypocrisy only goes so far!

Well it's over so I guess i'll tell all of you that I heard it was a torn right pec muscle. After I was told this I seen in his matches that he was wrestling with one arm. Too bad because he would have mopped the floor with these guys as he has the previous 3 yrs. don't know when or how he did it but I was told a few weeks ago.

That's fine I guess. But it really was an injury, not just too much weight to cut?

Really sad ending to a great career. Hope one day he is able to get over this and appreciate the fact that he was one the best ever.

Wheezer called it correctly. Delgado should be thanking his lucky stars and can't wait until Clark gets ahold of him next year!

That sucks. Sad ending to a great career. Even with this disappointment, he was one of the best.

Agree can't wait for Clark to whoop him again next year! Ushering in a new chapter, Clark's got some big shoes to fill and I have no doubt he'll do just fine!
