I am interested in people's thoughts. Florida has come out and said that they may not vote for A&M to join the SEC. I would assume that the PAC Large league would like to have A&M but maybe not.

Let us assume A&M has no where to go but crawl back to the Big 12 would you like to see them join the Big 10 at a reduced share? It is the second best school in Texas and could be the best school in Texas if they join the Big Ten and Texas is in Limbo for awhile.

Yes or no on what Delaney should do if this happens?

I do not think this is even a close possibility but am interested in if you think it could work having A&M in the Big 10?
 


I cannot see the Big Ten start offering new schools a reduced share as the Big Ten has always been about equal membership. But if the SEC for some reason did turn down TAMU then I could see them petitioning the B1G for membership. With the amount of television sets in the state of Texas they would be stupid to not consider it.
 


Other than the location, as in they are not close to any other B1G schools, they would fit right in. Great football tradition, rabid fans, 2 good hoops teams, great track program... So yeah, I'd take them.

I would love for A&M to join the Big10 but its just not going to happen.

A&M is going to join the SEC - end of story. Do you think multi-million (billion) dollar universities are going to leave a conference without knowing what lies ahead for them? Most have known for about a month now that A&M was heading to the SEC. They needed to follow a certain protocol to avoid stiff penalties and possible court proceedings for anti-trust and tampering.

They don't need a unanimous vote to enter the SEC - they need 9 votes to enter the SEC. Mike Slive will know tonight if they have the 9 votes and the motion will then be presented tomorrow for formal vote.

Florida won't benefit from adding A&M because this would actually help prevent players from leaving Texas and head to Florida in order to play in the SEC. Florida voting no is pretty much a done deal. The majority of the SEC schools see A&M as a top notch academic institution as well as potential recruiting market. The initial informal vote tonight is likely to be 10-2 in favor of admitting A&M and the formal vote tomorrow will be unanimous admission.

Well, outside of the Baylor stuff possibly holding this up, I'm seeing it mentioned that the vote was in fact unanimous. Who supposedly voted against it?
