Texas, A&M, Mizzou and ND with invites to BIG TEN?

Very interesting but can't see that grouping at this point.

Plan A needs to be....
Rutgers, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame

Plan B
Pittsburgh, Virginia, Missouri

Please no Texas. They have destroyed enough conferences already, I don't want them to destroy the best one. Its kinda like TO in his prime. He may be the best receiver in the world, but he brings everybody around him down with his "look at me" attitude.

I'm not ready to completely dismiss Texas to the Big Ten. It doesn't make sense that they would rather play in the Pacific Time Zone than the Central Time Zone. Not nearly as much exposure by playing on the West Coast. This is in addition to the CIC advantage they would have by joining the Big Ten.

hmm,if that happens i'd guess pac have no interest in anyone other then colorado and maybe grab kansas.OKy and oky state to sec. Yeah ISU still screwed

Chip Brown from Orangeblood said on ESPN that Texas President and AD told the Texas coaching staff they did every thing they could to save the Big 12 but were unsuccessful and that the six schools – UC, Texas, A&M, OK, OkSt, and TTech are all leaving for the Pac 10 in 2012.

Here’s the interesting part, according to Chip Brown Texas A&M has had talks with the SEC because of Gene Stallings being a regent at A&M. Gov of Texas Rick Perry, “a diehard Aggie” is weighing in to make sure Texas and A&M stick together and tomorrow Texas and A&M are meeting tomorrow to make sure the two biggest schools in Texas are on the same page.

Couldn't agree more. How long will it take before they start making demands on the Big 10?

Georgia Tech is a ridiculous addition.

Just because Deace said GT doesn't mean it is possible or a legit consideration.

Texas is a parasite. It has already killed two conferences and will eventually kill the next one it joins. Let that conference be the Pac10.

If we pull Texas and ND, what's everyones share going to be next year 40 Million????

I'm not trying to add validity to this rumor, but two things I heard today before seeing this rumor tonight.

I was listening to the Horn radio network due to all this expansion talk online today. They were talking about a meeting tommorrow between Texas & A&M. The two hosts were saying the two schools should be joined at the hip, and A&M should be happy being #2 and there is nothing wrong with being #2. It may be to look at multiple proposals, but thats interesting.

Secondly, Tom Osborne did say today things have been patched up with Texas but something about the Big 12 for the future was not viable or that Nebraska was announcing their future expansion plans soon.

Those two things kind of fit.

The last thing the B10 needs is NE and TX bringing all their issues into the B10 and getting us involved. At this point I think TX to P16 if they can't exist as an equal.

I think Notre Dame has no choice but to join the Big Ten. If they don’t do it this time there may never be another seat at the table. The future will not allow an independent school to survive. The Big East may require ND to become a full member to take their other spots and go home. Then they will be forced to join the Big East or some other conference that is not as advantages as the Big Ten.
Do those southern Big 12 schools really want to move their conference further west? Are they going to move up their start times so they are not playing after the rest of the countries bedtime? Maybe they should play their games in the Pacific Time zone. The Big Ten will need more time slots for our new members.
I just had a thought. Maybe Notre Dame can for a new conference with Iowa State and the rest of the Big 12 leftovers.

You've got to keep in mind a couple things here: 1. The Big 12 won't exist anymore, so those games are gone, being carried by ESPN/ABC and the BTN. 2. USC, Texas, and Oklahoma would be in the Pac-10. Trust me, the media will never keep them under wraps.

I would like to see Texas,A&M,Oklahoma,Okie st to the big ten now that its a done deal with nebbie. I just think it makes more sense for those teams to come to the big ten then it does the pac 10. Not only cause of time zone but I dont think no matter what other teams go to pac 10 after that or sec, unless the acc and sec merge the newly formed big 10 would be hands down the best football div in college.

Texas.A&M,Ok,Ok st,Nebbie,Iowa Minney,Ill in the west
Mich, Mich St,Wisc,tOsu,Psu,Ind,Pur,NW in the east
Play 11con games 2non conf games and a champ Game
Iowa sched would be 7in the west 4 in the east with the other 4 alt every other year is that even possible?

If these teams dont come I would like to see these teams join the big 10
ND,Pitt,Mizzou, kansas makes for A in football div and a pretty good basketball programs with Kc tv market with kansas and Mizzou, gets a pretty good chi tv market with ND well nation wide with ND And with Pitt makes a natural rivial to psu

Just some random thoughts no real reason

Texas would not be able to make demands of the B10 because they would have no more pull than pretty much anyone else. It takes more than just Texas and two or theee other schools to keep things from happening in the B10 if they were to join. In the B12 there was only a need for either three or four schools to vote one way to keep anything from changing. That is why nothing ever changed with regard to revenue there. In the B10 there is no de facto veto like that, so they would not have anymore power than anyone else to make demands.

End of story.

Of course, they wouldn't like that as much as the setup they have now re the power they have, so that is another reason they would probably not prefer the B10.
