hating Tebow=hating Christianity (pretty much)
Give me a break. I don't like Tebow and I'm a Christian. Now I don't hate Tebow, because I don't even know the guy. But I don't like Florida and I can't stand Denver so it was easy not to be a fan. Plus, I'm not a fan of athletes that grandstand their religion. What's wrong with being humble and sincere with your faith without trying to put yourself at the center of the attention. I see it done correctly all over the NFL on Sundays so it can't be that hard.
The little idolatry that is going on with some of these Christian followers make me sick. They pretend like they are fans of Tebow because he is such a great guy who does things the right way. Okay...I can believe that's a part of it. But like I've posted before, why didn't these people idol worship these guys?
1998 Dan Marino Quarterback Miami Dolphins
1999 Cris Carter Wide Receiver Minnesota Vikings
2000 Derrick Brooks Linebacker Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2000 Jim Flanigan Defensive Line Chicago Bears
2001 Jerome Bettis Running Back Pittsburgh Steelers
2002 Troy Vincent Cornerback Philadelphia Eagles
2003 Will Shields Guard Kansas City Chiefs
2004 Warrick Dunn Running Back Atlanta Falcons
2005 Peyton Manning Quarterback Indianapolis Colts
2006 Drew Brees Quarterback New Orleans Saints
2006 LaDainian Tomlinson Running Back San Diego Chargers
2007 Jason Taylor Defensive End Miami Dolphins
2008 Kurt Warner Quarterback Arizona Cardinals [3]
2009 Brian Waters Guard Kansas City Chiefs [4]
2010 Madieu Williams Safety Minnesota Vikings
The last 15 Walter Peyton Man of the Year Award Recipients. Obviously, these are good guys too. Warrick Dunn, for instance, has done more for his fellow man than Tebow has even come close to doing? Why didn't this same Christian following start up a false idol worshiping for him?
I think the answer is transparent as well as ridiculous.
