Tebow - 1st round?

It was Steve Young.... lol and they showed a video comparing both of their throwing motions and it was actually very similar. Now that doesn't mean im saying Tebow will ever be good as Dan Marino and he wasn't either. All im saying is that you can't base everything on the kids throwing motion.

It may have been similar in release point, hand position and so on but it was in no way similar in speed. And yes, sometimes Steve Young is a moron. Especially if he thinks Tebows release is as fast as Marino's. Steve Youngs release wasnt as fast as Marinos.
 
I think it is great that Tebow's hard work paid off in getting drafted in the first round.

I think the Denver management is just stupid, though. Even if Tebow does work out (and that is a big "if"), he is a project right now - for at least a couple of years. Perhaps more. And moving up to take him in the first round is idiotic. Nobody else was going to look at him there. They could have easily picked him up tonight and saved picks and money.

I do believe that Tebow will try hard, so maybe they will be able to do something with him. Time will tell...
 
I could not disagree more that a team shouldn't take 2-3-4 year project in the 1st Round...especially at QB...especially in this instance.

Oftentimes the worst thing that you can do to a QB is throw him to the wolves on a bad team. Chuck Long may have been a great NFL QB...we'll never know thanks to the Detroit Lions.

I've always been a big believer in bringing a guy on board because he's got the right talent set and the right mental outlook on life...whether it be for a sales position in a company...an NFL quarterback or Iowa Hawkeyes Head BB Coach...then being comfortable with the decision you made and giving that person every opportunity to succeed which means giving them ample time to be successful.

Whether you like him or not...Tim Tebow is a guy that makes it easy for the people who do like him to have faith in his abilities and he will be given ample time to prove his worth and I have little doubt that he will be a great starting QB in the NFL someday.

When he met with Gruden on that NFL show...Gruden put some hypothetical question to him..."I have just draft you...(insert question here)..." Tebow didn't flinch...he responded with something to the effect of "Do you want me as the quarterback of your football team?" I think he's right on with that point...a team needs to have the right outlook on Tim Tebow in order to draft him and obviously a team that went out and got him in the 1st round has the right outlook on Tim Tebow.

Here is Tebows draft info from NFL.com. I think we can all agree on his intangibles and his college success.

Just for the sake of argument where do you have Stanzi rated in next year's crop of Qbs then. They are of similar stature, have similar intangibles and Stanzi could have a similar win percentage when he finishes his Iowa career. I think that Stanzi would be more NFL ready running the type of offense that he does and has played with less elite skill talent, throughout his Iowa career. I would wager that Stanzi is taller than his listed 6'4 height and runs at least a 4.8 40.

Is Stanzi a first round talent? Would you like your favorite NFL team to draft him in the first round next season? Trade multiple picks to get him? Just honestly curious.
 
I agree, I wouldn't sell the farm for him, even with his new throwing motion. Check it out. I don't know what it is, but I just see something wrong with his new motion. Let me know if what it is that's not quite right, or am I just seeing things.

Tebow threw 5 Ints all of last year...I think Stanzi threw that same amount of Pick 6's.

Stanzi had 304 attempts

Tebow had 314

I don't want to sit here and disparage Stanzi...but there is no comparison between him and Tim Tebow. It is debatable...but there are people calling Tebow the greatest college football player of all time. Stanzi probably doesn't crack the top 5 of all-time quarterbacks at Iowa.
 
There's nothing wrong with him.

Kiper was on the verge of tears because he "DOESN'T HAVE THE THROWING MOTION OMG" but that doesn't matter as long as the ball gets there and he wins. And if there's something that needs to be changed, Tebow is perfectly willing to change it and listen to the coaches.

I'm not too concerned with how my swing looks if I shoot par every day.
