Tebow - 1st round?

What if he ends up being a decent QB and good enough to start? You all who are bashing him will be the ones looking like idiots. I don't see how you all dislike him that much. Yeah hearing his name every damn 5 mins is annoying but Tebow in a way earned it, with his teammates help of course but who doesnt. I'm not saying he will do good or bad just like i won't say Bradford, Suh, or McCoy will have a good career in the NFL because none of them have played a down at that level yet. If I was him and seeing all these posts talking crap about him I would be laughing because look at what it is doing for him. $$$$$$$$$

BTW I don't like Florida at all or the SEC.

Tim Tebow sucks...

Who is the last successful big name QB from a big time program? Who is Urban Meyer's most successful Pro QB? I am not bashing Tim Tebow the person, I am bashing the draft pick. He should have been a round 2 or 3 selection in my opinion. If I am wrong you can put it in your signature or something. I just think that Orton and Quinn are better than him. Time will tell.

maybe Peyton or Tom Brady? not sure if they had successful seasons but they r from big schools. & if u r going 2 bring that up then look @ Bradford he's from a big successfull school & what top QB has Stoops put out? Sorry but ur argument sux. But u r eactly right on the time will tell part.

I don't like Florida and I was sick and tired of ESPN's love affair with Tebow. But like him or not, believe he'll make an NFL QB or not... he doesn't suck. Ben Rapelessberger sucks... Plaxico Burress sucks...etc etc.

I for one don't mind seeing "character" rewarded. (Tebow picked, Claussen-the-tool passed on). It's long overdue. I'm getting tired of pro athletes being punks and thugs.

Tebow was a perfect fit for Florida's offense. Unfortunately, the NFL is a different breed. He won't be able to plow over defensive lineman in the NFL. He won't be able to outrun linebackers in the NFL. His mechanics are horrible and he is very, very slow at going through progressions. Imagine him facing someone like Ray Lewis. lol. It's going to be funny to see. Hopefully we will get a chance in the preseason.

He will be a flop in the NFL as a QB. Maybe he could be a hybrid type of player...but you don't use first round picks for hybrid players. Also, his little act won't work in the locker room of an NFL club like it did with Florida. He already got a taste of what it will be like when he took his wonderlic test.

My issues are with McDaniels, not with Tebow. Tebow is going to get a ton of money and not have to do much work for it. Props to him.

When was Peyton drafted? What round was Brady drafted? Rivers or Eli might be better arguments but Eli hasn't sold me as a franchise QB. What those four have in common though is being "pocket" passers. P. Manning, Brady, and Rivers have quick releases, incredible timing, and manipulate defenses. There is no evidence that Tebow can do any of those things. This isn't a personal attack of Tebow. It is a critique of his ability to translate as a NFL QB. Personally I think that James Vandenberg is far more advanced than Tim Tebow. Vince Young is having far more success than I ever expected though. I expect Bradford to fail also. I think Clausen is the best Qb in this class.

Denver got a guy at WR that replaces Marshall but they can mold him into a team guy and not have to give him 50 million to keep the kid happy, good move. Then Tebow, the one thing people forget is that Tim is going to be motivated to prove all you wrong. His mechanics have improved a lot since he has been working with a legit QB coach. The one thing Tim does is work his tail off, Gruden and others like the kid but Tom Jackson said it best, Tebow is going to have to see the field to be able to lead and that isn't going to happen quickly. He will have a package of plays I'm sure and is a heck of a weapon no matter what people say.

Personally I hope he has a lot of success in the NFL and gives up on "God's Work". One less person to propagate nonsense and help destroy mankind.

No kidding. The concept of being able to freely practice your religion of choice is so yesterday. All we really need is the all powerful Central State Government to take care of us.

Ok well if you watched the Draft on ESPN last night you saw when they were talking about Tim Tebow and his throwing motion in college they comopared it to Dan Marino. Their throwing motions were almost exactly identical plus as I'm sure you have heard he has been working on his throwing motion to get a quicker release which John Gruden (not sure how you spell his last name) said was a lot better and accurate as well. I'm sure that P. Manning, Brady, and Rivers never manipulated the defenses or called as many audibles as they do now in the NFL as they did at the college level either. I just don't understand how you can write someone off so easily when they have had nothing but success at the college level and they haven't even played a down yet in the NFL or gone to Camp as far as that goes.

It's a perfect fit, really. Denver is the closest NFL city to heaven.

True, but it would have been more interesting if he got drafted by San Francisco. Or New Orleans. He could have proselytized the crowd while holding a clipboard on the sidelines.

I'm happy for him. What a story--hard working, clean-cut guy drafted in 1st round.

But Denver gave up way too much for him. Tebow better do something great, or he'll go down in history as one of the biggest draft mistakes ever made.

Whomever related his throwing motion to Dan Marino's in college, is a moron. Dan Marino had one of the quickest releases in football.
That person should be forced to apologize to Dan Marino and the ESPN audience.

I thought it was a great pick! I had heard the Vikings wanted him, so I was overjoyed to see him off the board.

He will be a titanic flop.
