Tailgating in Madison

If you paid for my tickets, travel, and PTO at work I wouldn’t go back there. Madison is the armpit of the Big 10. No way I’d visit that shithole again; it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an away game and I’ve been everywhere except Rutgers and Maryland.

Fk Maryland. I went there. Fk Maryland. I think those AZ fans were the same people at the TGI Fridays near the hotel in College Park

It was unreal after the game. Never in my life have I experienced fear like that after a game. Couldn’t get in a cab fast enough and get out of the stadium area. It wasn’t rabid, it was borderline criminal

These people were a picnic compared to what we experienced after the game.

I go to Vegas every year for March Madness and deal with hundreds of Arizona fans.

Seriously...f*** Arizona fans.

Been to madison 6 times for Iowa games. Never had an issue. Arizona on the other hand? I actually feared for my safety during and after the game especially

Dude...worst I've ever seen, by a long way. ISU 1981 would be second.

Games in Tucson are night games due to the heat. By the time kickoff rolls around people are plowed...in 90+ degree heat. To make matters worse, there's a big local contingent (as in "non-student") that's pretty rough.

Only time I came close to getting tossed out of a game. An older gentleman in Hawkeye gear was coming up the aisle and a 20-something kid in Arizona gear gave him a hard shoulder as he passed...the guy stumbled and fell...almost going backwards down the stairs. A couple of us reached over to help steady him. We then shouted at the kid asking him what the hell he was doing?

For the rest of the game he would come down the aisle and spew crap at us from behind. When I turned to him and yelled, "Hey MTV, go sit down", everybody sitting around us cracked up. He said "what does that mean?". Everybody laughed harder. Apparently he didn't care for it and charged us. (not a good move as at 5'11", I was the little guy in our group) Security split everybody up and told us both we'd be tossed if anything further happened. We asked "have you been watching this guy?!". They didn't seem to care.

Things got out of hand that night, because local authorities allowed it to happen. There were even stories of families with little kids being intimidated. The Arizona AD ultimately sent a letter of apology to Barta and the U of I.

I like the guy just standing there watching the game and not saying a word.

More women that spout their mouth's because they know nobody should touch them.
