I am heading to Madison with a friend and are looking to tailgate with some fellow Hawkeyes.
Anyone have a spot in Madison where they tailgate?

Go to the bars. They’re everywhere on Regent St around the stadium
What made it so horrible? If you paid for my tickets, travel, and PTO at work I wouldn’t go back there. Madison is the armpit of the Big 10. No way I’d visit that shithole again; it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an away game and I’ve been everywhere except Rutgers and Maryland.
Walking to the tailgate, during the game, and after the game it was nothing but eff the Hawkeyes, blah blah blah, had a drunk guy who was way too old to be starting shit try to fight someone in our group (after our guy said hi and wished them good luck), a group down below us got beer thrown on them from a few rows up, stuff like that. It was no fun and we were obviously outnumbered to the point where we weren‘t going to flip any shit back. What made it so horrible?
I’m glad you guys ran into the people we didn’t find. That's not my experience I went in '15 with my stepson and his friend and the Wisconsin fans were very friendly and cordial. Maybe I just got lucky but they offered the kids pop, food, and gave me a beer. Even were nice after we won but not as much.
Arizona was something else.....and watch your back. Outside of Arizona in 2010, I've not been to a visiting stadium where you're more likely to get accosted and/or harassed.
This surprises me. I've never been, but a few friends who have said they had a great time and no problems. If you paid for my tickets, travel, and PTO at work I wouldn’t go back there. What was your experience like?

The bars afterwards were even worse, and we got beat so it wasn’t like we walked in there with our chests out or anything. It reminded me of the soccer hooligan stuff you see over in England. Drunk assholes literally everywhere.
I don’t hold it against Wisconsin people though, because I’d be edgy too if my parents were cousins and I was expected by tradition to copulate with farm animals as soon as I turned 18. Never eat Wisconsin cheese guys. I can’t stress that enough.
Been to madison 6 times for Iowa games. Never had an issue. Arizona on the other hand? I actually feared for my safety during and after the game especially
That surprises me. One wouldn't think Arizona would be so rabid.
It was unreal after the game. Never in my life have I experienced fear like that after a game. Couldn’t get in a cab fast enough and get out of the stadium area. It wasn’t rabid, it was borderline criminal
Ahh, I see. That doesn't sound like fun.Post number 8 above.
