Sweet...we made someone's FCS upset special.

It's not unreasonable. Iowa is typically way behind on opening week....playing mid-summer form. For all the excitement going into the season, I am always left feeling a bit sad by 4pm on opening day as I watch Iowa struggle mightly with even the weakest of foes. Don't forget that 2009 team nearly lost to UNI.

Why is anyone surprised by this? As NCHawer said, do you not remember that it took two field goal blocks in order for Iowa to win in 2009? Sometimes I swear some Iowa fans are as stupid and delusional as ISU fans.

Because one thing nearly happening to a completely different team means it will happen this year.

Hawks are going 9-0. Don't you remember 2009? Sheesh.

Genetically impossible.

Almost every time someone makes a suggestion that Iowa could get upset, or someone mentions that Iowa really might not be very good or at the very least not up to the standards of the average Hawkeye fan, posters on this board show up with their blinders on and crooked panties and immediately assume that person needs fired from their jobs or they're "trolling". Then when someone tries to remind them that it's not always unicorns and rainbows with this team they have some smart *** illogical response like yours. Congratulations, ICHawk24, you're the typical delusional moron most people have come to associate with Iowa sports.

Well in his defense, he is factually correct. Iowa did in fact beat UNI and start that season 9-0. It seems like you want the "what if's" to be reality when they are simply "what if's".

Northern Iowa is a good team but Iowa should be ready. Apparently (as per BTN live) being able to have coaches available for two hours a week until August has helped the offense's a lot. If so this should benefit Iowa. Iowa's offense usually starts very slow. Hopefully this gives them a head start.

The reality of the situation is Iowa typically blows early in the season and nobody should be surprised if they're picked to lose against UNI.

Is it possible that Iowa loses to UNI? Sure, Iowa can get beat by anyone on their schedule. Is it probable that they get beat by UNI? No, it is not, and a spread of 15+ points shows that bookies also think it isn't a high probability that they get beat.

I could care less if someone picks Iowa to lose a game personally. They will either win it or lose it no matter if I am confident, or others aren't.

The reality of the situation is that you post nothing but irrational nonsense on this board, and I would wager next to no one takes your opinion seriously.

Should anyone be surprised that UNI beating Iowa is an upset special pick? No probably not because UNI is going to be a damn good FCS team. They've given Iowa a run for their money in the past, and they gave Wisconsin a hell of a game a few years ago. Obviously they have beat ISU a couple times in recent history. Honestly, if I were going to make an FCS upset special pick they would probably be towards the top of my list as well. I think the easier pick is NDSU over Iowa State. Though I'm not sure you could consider than an upset since NDSU is favored.

UNI has always had a hard time stopping Mark Weisman. They will have to bring up safeties and Iowa will go over the top repeatedly.

I was replying specifically to the multiple mentions of 2009. The 2009 UNI game has zero impact on this year's game.

Iowa could lose any game it plays. But mentioning 2009 is stupid. And, as I saw someone post the other day, you are one of the biggest ******* posters on this site. Good day.

Nobody takes me seriously and I post nothing but nonsense, but then you agree with me and respond to what I'm saying? I think you may be bi-polar.

I also want you to know that I really look forward to you responding to my posts because they show how butthurt you are over me trolling Turkey last week. If you could only tell how much I really don't care about you or your opinion of me it would save you so much time and heartache.

I'm pretty confident Iowa will win, just not surprised or bent out of shape when someone picks Iowa to blow a game they should win. It's kinda what writers do.

Not only is this a different Iowa team this year, Northern Iowa is a different team from 2009. If I remember right 2009 Northern Iowa was a solid team contending for a championship. And as it turned out, Iowa was a good team that year. But they went into the game expecting a tune up and almost got beat.

This year Northern Iowa is still a good team but they are not near what they were then. And Iowa looks to have a good team in the making. This is going to be a good game, but Iowa's power on the offensive and defensive lines should win the game for them.
