The paper reports that university officials felt that the “touching you, touching meâ€￾ lyrics would be inappropriate to sing at this time.

But... could this finally convince the Hawkeye Band to drop it? Please?

Iowa State ruined that song for me last year when they played it at the end of the game. All the fans were on the field, singing, dancing, jiving, and having a gay old time. Now I cringe when I hear it! I could do without the Iowa band playing that song.

Sorta strange... A little over a year ago, West High in Iowa City started playing Sweet Caroline at sporting events in honor of Caroline Found, who died from an accident.

Now it seems like everyone is playing it... gotta love the 70s music.
