Oldest Continuous Mascots in College Football :

This is a mascot that was brought out on to the field, not just a drawing or statue

1. Yale - Handsome Dan - Bulldog 1889
2. Army - Mule - 1899 - although not the "official" mascot until 1936, I'm giving them credit because it's Army, they deserve it.
3. Penn State - Nittany Lion - 1904
4. Texas - Bevo - 1916
5. UCLA - Joe Bruin - 1924
5. UNC - Ramses - Ram - 1924
7. WVU - Mountaineer - 1927
8. Auburn - War Eagle - 1930
9. Texas A&M - Revielle - Collie - 1931
10. Colorado - Ralphie - Buffalo - 1934

Princeton is credited with having the first mascot, the Tiger, in 1884, but there's no record of a mascot on the field.

Maryland's mascot - Testudo was first a bronze statue in 1933, not sure when the turtle made the sidelines.
No known mascots - Indiana and Michigan (help me if I'm wrong on this)

Indiana has experimented in the past with at least a handful of mascots. None stuck. There's a good story on this here:

Michigan had a live wolverine as a mascot back in the 20s/30s, and a plush mascot in the 80s and mid 90s, but they didn't stick.

Former Herky the Hawkeye here (2003-2005). I love this mascot discussion. I had the privilege of going to a cheer camp in 2004 where a majority of the B1G spirit squads attended (UM and MSU included). As story has it, before the annual Michigan/MSU rivalry game (at MSU), one of the students that portrays Sparty the Spartan crafted their own mockery version of the Michigan wolverine (complete with the maize and blue fur and over-sized googly eyes) and presented it during the halftime show.

Needless to say, Sparty came out and beat him down to the delight of all MSU fans.

However, the UM athletics department did not take too kindly to their new mascot and prompted a scathing letter to the MSU spirit squads condemning the stunt, and the Wolverine has not been seen since...
