Heartland and Lakes

Heartland might be a good name.

Heartland and Valley
Great Plains and Valley
Stagg and Paterno (why not? - agree with Olive on this one)
Rose and Bowl
Rose and Granddaddy
Rose and Thorn (actually this one sounds dumb)

I like these two, espy Heartland and Lakes.

Also like Stagg and Paterno, but my concerns would be using the names of football coaches for conference divisions covering many sports, and using the name of coach who is still coaching and (we think) alive.

I think the division really only matter in Football, (unless I am wrong I though that in the Big 12, sec, etc. they do not split into divisions for other sports.

The argument against this is what? Michigan isn't in the West? Well, their fight song says they are the Champions of the West, right? I think it fits perfectly, even the Michigan schools.

Ok so I tried thinking of something no one has thought about before. I looked up Indian tribes in the area and found that they group individual trip together baised on languages. The two main ones are:

Algonkian (west) and (east) Iroquoian
