Modern Warfare and Black Ops

sorry, saw this earlier in the week and had to share it somehow..

How about Slackers and Scholars? It would require a little rejiggering of the conferences, but I would line it up like this to reflect the academically strong schools in the B10 and the others:

Scholars:
Northwestern
Michigan
Wisconsin
PSU
Purdue
Illinois

Slackers:
Michigan State
Ohio State
Iowa
Indiana
Nebraska
Minnesota

I think it gives good balance for FB and men's BB as well as roughly appropriately grouping the schools on academic terms.

Not bad.

I like Lawyers and Pharmacists division

Lawyers = the known cheaters, thugs, back stabbers, rogue programs.
(Nebraska, Minnesota, Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan for starters)

Pharmacist = upstanding, integrity, clean-as-a-whistle programs.
(Iowa, Indiana, PSU, Purdue for starters)

Cops and Robbers
Cowboys and Indians
Cats and Dogs
Peanut Butter and Jelly
Macaroni and Cheese
Johnson and Johnson
Bert and Earnie
Ren and Stimpy
Beavis and Butthead
Itchy and Scratchy
Boats and Hoes
Abbott and Costello
Frank and Beans
Dumb and Dumber
Gin and Juice
Cows and Rust
Kibbles and Bits
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
East and West

American Division and National Division (or United States Division)
Red, White and Blue Division and Stars and Stripes Division
Bronze Division and Brass Division
Lakes and Plains

The official name for the Big Ten until 1987 was the Intercollegiate Conference of Faculty Representatives. The conference used to be widely known as the Western Conference. Is there someway they could add these into the equation to keep some of that tradition intact?

It's a delicate issue when you take into account that geographic names are almost impossible to apply to every school correctly, hence the names "Legends," and "Leaders," were created so as to represent every school without neglecting academic standards and historical importance. By that same token, Agriculture and Industry would be names that would be misrepresenting teams like Northwestern and Wisconsin.

The point attempting to be made is that these names, Legends and Leaders aren't perfect, however, given the divisions what they are, descriptive names may be the only direction to go while adequately showcasing each school.

The following are a couple suggestions found to meet these criteria;

- Hammer and Steel
- Tradition and Prestige

Those suggestions are also terrible. If you work for the big 10 conference you should be fired. Its simple East and West and be done with it.

Hammer and Steel? Tradition and Prestige? Seriously?

Have you seen the news recently?

Have you seen the news recently?

What? Pharmacists are now considered to be back-stabbers and thugs? ;)

Iowa current misgivings are a mere blip of a + (-)3SD on the FB bell curve. I'm talking about 100 years worth of program history. :)

Booooooooooooo

Since the Big Ten likes to use hyphens I suggest we use the last names of the school presidents who were involved in the creation of what is now the Big Ten.
