Iowa has traditionally been strong if they are strong up the middle...usually a baseball phrase, but it applies to football, too, IMO...if an Iowa team has solid DTs, MLBer and Safeties, they typically are pretty tough to beat (this could probably apply to any team)...watching LSU V. Iowa replay right now and Iowa had:
DTs: Babs/Lubs
Inside LBers: Greenway/Hodge
Safeties: Paschal/Considine
(5/6 played or playing in NFL)
Pretty good up the middle. Next year concerns me:
DTs: Daniels/Bigach?
MLBers: Morris/? DiBona?
S: Sash/Miller
Can we get enough depth or will someone step up? Nardo, Carl Davis, Tony Ferguson, will Bruce Davis come back? Can Tanner Miller make plays? Will Sash stay healthy? Is Kirksey ready? Will Nielsen play again? A lot of questions.
Iowa better be a developmental program next yr.
