Strasburg MLB Debut

Anyone remember David Clyde out of Texas? Was suppose to be the greatest pitcher ever. Didn't turn out that way.

Clyde was totally different that Strasburg. The Rangers management made ZERO attempt to take care of his arm when he was young, and he (like Mark Prior and many others later) developed arm troubles that cursed his career. Today, MLB management is much more likely to baby a guy like Strasburg so he can have a longer, injury free career. If he does have a more or less injury free career, Strasburg should more than live up to the hype.

I'll be at this game. Don't really want to go, but its such a big deal here in DC that its just the place to be if you can get a ticket. For the record, I'd pay good $ for a good seat at Kinnick, but baseball tix have to be free to make it worthwhile - in my opinion.

I like Felix, but he has two wins this year, and has not won a game since April. He only has one great year in his career, but it was last year when he won 19 games. If he played for just about any other team he would win 15-20 games every year. See, what I have done here is actually start the post with the intention of disagreeing with you, but in the end, I actually agree... Haha. Felix is GREAT! :)
That's a terrible way to judge a pitcher.

I haven't been able to watch, but 11 Ks through 6 is very impressive. How does he look, for those of you that are watching?

Right now the best in baseball is Ubaldo Jimenez. No way Strasburg can be expected to put up Jimenez numbers right away. I had a chance to see him pitch in Denver a couple weeks ago. He didn't have his "A" stuff that day, but he is nasty.

He's now 10-1 w/ a 0.78. Those stats are nuts. And he pitches in Denver!

I am sooooo happy I was able to snag Jimenez for my fantasy team. I picked him up late as a value pick...and what a value! My pitching has been dominant and includes Roy Halladay, Ryan Dempster, Jimenez, and Mariano Rivera. Needless to say, the rest of my league hates me! :p

I watched this kid pitch last night on the MLB Network, and he looks like the real deal.
In the 7th he was still gassing it 98MPH with a good change and decent curve.
If he is able to take care of his arm, this guy could be the next Roger Clemons.
