He would be crazy not to go... just ask D. King.
I'm just glad he's playing in the bowl game. It's good to see at least one of our tight ends being a team player.
If you are implying Fant wasn't a team player, you need to look at Ferentz as a "team" coach.
He may have been a team player during the season but he quit on his team for the bowl game. He's not a running back taking 30 hits a game. His chance of injury is about 0.00005%. He's also not helping his draft stock any by not playing. I appreciate the players who will be out their giving it all for one more game.
IF....and I mean IF, KF was playing games with him, I can give him a pass. I also would guess that there are black athletes that question KF, right or wrong. Only he and KF really know.
On a bit different note, Iowa has never updated anti-discrimination and harassment in their civil rights code. Police profiling is a real issue in Iowa and the laws make it difficult to do something about it. For most of us we don't really think much about it. It is a topic among minorities. That alone can dampen recruiting.

Why, when I read this post was I reminded of Monty Python - “And now, for something completely different’”.IF....and I mean IF, KF was playing games with him, I can give him a pass. I also would guess that there are black athletes that question KF, right or wrong. Only he and KF really know.

If he gets projected anywhere below the first round, I think he should stay at Iowa. Maybe, just maybe, if he looks like a very high 2nd round pick, he could make a case for moving on. Anything below that: Stay in Iowa City.
Some kid grows up in Mississippi or Alabama or Florida or Nebraska and says, "I don't want to leave this tolerant place for the unenlightened folk in Iowa."
That's how you think it works?
Oh his chance at injury is significantly more than that. The argument can be made that by not playing and lowering his injury rate that is helping his draft stock by not hurting it... I wish he'd play too but if your a first round guaranteed draft pick there's big $ at risk. There's a risk in playing there just is and who am I to tell him there's not or he's wrong to think differently. With that being said it's his life. If he wants to quit football all together and go in the Army instead he can do that.He may have been a team player during the season but he quit on his team for the bowl game.
