Stop with the sour grapes threads

MSU played exactly how we knew they would play. The refs miss calls in every game. It's not worth whining about! It's been a great season. Look at the positives.
Like all of the returning starters we have coming back next season! Lets win our Bowl game and do it again next year!

We blew the biggest game in the history of the program.

A little sour is appropriate.
I get that a little sadness is appropriate. But excuse making and blaming is for losers. It's for Wisconsin, Penn St, Iowa St and Nebraska fans. Not for Iowa fans. We lost by 3 points. Obviously a play here or a call there could have been the difference. Live with the results. It's exactly what we've been telling everyone else to do for the past 13 weeks!

Thunder Hawk go hide under a rock. This team did more with less all year.No body had us playing in the championship game. This team deserves our support. Were 12-1 with one more game to go.

I'd say for the magnitude of the loss the sour grapes has been amazingly limited.

Most of us are still fairly positive and see good in the future.

But I wouldn't blame anyway who wanted to twisted things in the name of their sorrow and anger.

And lost the biggest game in program history in maddening fashion.

A tremendous game. No sour grapes from me. Refs miss calls all the time and if we'd won some MSU fans would say the refs missed calls against Iowa . We had our chances just as MSU had chances. In the end the nine minute drive by MSU was perhaps the greatest in college football history given the way both defenses played. It's great to be a Hawkeye and Go Hawks and just win baby.

Did Fox Sports have more than 4 cameras at this game? Camera on a rope. Sideview cam. But seems like the most they had for replays and reviews was two views.

I've been hoping another media entity could give espn a challenge. It won't be fox.

I thought the announcers were good but the rest of the production was subpar. Big10 production of football games is better.

I don't like Fox Sports

Agree. I think many people on this board look like CHILDISH little kids. I was at game and proud to be a Hawk!!

Go Hawks!!

Point well taken........However, I am with Thunderhawk on this. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I do not have a problem with a little sour grapes(with in reason).

Sometimes these posts questioning certain calls and playcalling and player reaction are also made for analysis reasons.

No sour grapes from me, knew the offense would be challenged and I thought the hawk defense played great overall. Even if we stop MSU at midfield to force a punt there was still 4-5 minutes left so no guarantee they dont get the ball back and score usuing two drives to do it.

The hawk tackling looked like some tired arms and legs on that last drive but still forced them into many 3rd downs and on 4th down,

That was an incredible effort last night against a great and healthy MSU. Those two teams played their hearts out and convinced me that not only had Iowa earned a #4 ranking, they truly are a top 4 team.

Iowa would have beaten anyone else last night. MSU would have beaten anyone else last night.

No problems at all with how the game was managed, called or executed. I do wish however that pick in the end zone would have fallen safely to the ground.

How on earth anyone can call last night an epic effort is beyond me

if MSU's defender gets his hand up to defend the pass to T Smith then Iowa puts a whopping 6 total points

the D played great for 3.9 quarters and folded when it mattered

face this loss head on and stop claiming that the loss is mitigated by some sort of Herculean effort from this team last night

effort doesn't have the final say, points do

Iowa will occasionally get to the precipice of greatness and refuses to claim it. Last night was easily winnable and the fact that it was a defensive game doesn't make it feel any better

So you are saying the Michigan State defender didn't give effort on that pass play? Really? And if a defended pass doesn't land on the back of a defender laying on the ground for an interception, maybe Iowa comes away with 6 points more or at least 3 points more. There are lots of ifs during any game. Iowa refuses to claim greatness. What a ridiculous statement. Obviously it was a winnable game. It was winnable for both teams.
