Still want to fire Fran?

Nope I give him a chance if those 4 freshmen stick it out and add a couple others the next 2 years we should see an increasing number of W's if we don't then I'd say the Fran experiment is done. I'm still waiting for the 6 game swoon at the end of the season.

Why? We aren't a top 10 team this year. We only fall apart when we're in the top 10.

After 50 years of being an Iowa Fan, Iowa Fans are the worst crybaby's in sports.
Every fan base has their vocal minority. Message boards are places where people come to freak out when things aren't going well, or to be excited when they are. In real life I try to be even keel, but I've absolutely overreacted on a message board. I'm trying to be better about that but it's a more healthy way to express frustration over something that really isn't that important in the grand scheme of things instead of screaming at the tv in front of my kids.
Yes there are those that come in here and post constant negative things. They probably need even more help than I do. I've expressed concern about how high we can go under Fran, but I've never been on the fire him train. I hope he can take us to the next level.
And if you want to see real cry babies, go visit CyFan.

Seriously Iowa fans the worst crybabies? No. Fire Fran at this point? No

He needs to be able to have a team that can play 1/2 court. Iowa going back to a running game against 2 teams short handed on talent doesn't change a lot.

If he lashes out and strikes a ref or a player (either team) or it's found he abuses players, then yes, he should be fired. All of those are within the realm of possibilities with a guy who is only a step away from pooping/popping a cork lose.

Didn't think so. Seems like some of y'all forget that this team is extremely young.

That being said, I love this damn team and love Fran as a Head Coach!

Go Hawkseyes!
I don't recall anyone on this board saying Fran should be fired now.

Fran has earned the right to be here at least 4 more years. This program was in the gutter following the Alford/Lickliter years, and now suddenly fans are pissed when we DONT make the NCAA tournament. Think about that and how far we have come as fans. That is all thanks to Fran.

IMO, I think Fran redshirting Moss might turn out to be one of his best moves ever at Iowa and can't wait to see it payoff. I think most kids with the accolades that Moss had coming out of high school would have either refused the redshirt or transferred. Fran somehow convinced him to take the redshirt and stick around, and it has already started paying dividends. Imagine 2 or 3 years from now. The future is bright.

Well, Steve Forbes is 101-23 since we passed on him the first time. This may be his dream job and we may be able to get him.

This week, No. Next week, ??? It all depends on when you do your survey. ;) Program is in the going in the right direction. Fran will retire at Iowa, with the most wins of any head coach, that's my prediction.

I like Fran, but I'd like to see him develop more maturity and compassion for his fellow man. It appears to me he loses his temper a lot. The other coaches need to remind him of what the other people around him are feeling when he becomes angry and lashes out. If he knew he was hurting their feelings, I think he would stop. I think that may make him think twice about going all dickwad on people. Other than that, I think he's swell.

I don't want to fire Fran, but this thread is laughable considering the current record and the fact the season has yet to play out.

Yes, Forbes teams appearance and second round loss in last year's Vegas 16 tourney really has me hyped to fire Fran and bring him in.
