someone told me about it this morning and i didn't believe it but look what i found had to share with the rest of amercanzis

I picked up one of these the other day; it's actually a pretty good read. SI dispenses with predicting who will finish where, and has a pretty solid breakdown of each team. They also spotlight one player on each team - for Iowa it's Clayborn - so that's pretty neat.

Also, I think the SI cover jinx only applies to the magazine itself, not their one a year pre-season issues.

Agreed plus it may be too early for the jinx, it's not even the season, or the week before
 
plenty of off season problems can happen mcswain

you never know what the SI jinx can do to a player lol
 
If SI is like other rags, Stanzi is a regional cover and if you went to Ohio, Pryor may be on the cover. It's done to sell more magazines.

Still, I'd rather not have anything to do with the cover of Sports Illustrated; preview or otherwise.

Last year was all the voo-doo I need from that mag.

Off to find me a rabbit's foot or 4 leaf clover now.

I don't know if they do THAT many... but i can tell you that the new Texas QB Gilbert is on the Big XII preview in Dallas. I would guess they have a different cover per conference.
 
N.F.W. I swear to God that I will not touch one of those things and neither should anyone else. Remember the Northwestern game?

They have four for the Big 10 - Royster, Stanzi, Pryor, and their "national" cover has Greg Jones, Scott Tolzein, and an unidentified Golden Gopher.
