Spy campbell or jacobs or someone on Clifford, thats all

I think we have seen enough PSU receivers running wide open not to pull another guy out of the back end coverage.

Yeah but many times the middle lbkr is guarding grass and the QB draw has already burnt us 3 times, and about a dozen times last year with these guys

But if he isnt deep enough, he isnt supporting the safeties in pass coverage and that intermediate area will be wide open to dig concepts, which is a great cover 4 beater (which we like to run as part of the cover 6 scheme we run).

Ok, lots and lots of defensive coordinators have used spies on the QB over the past 60 years. You dont remember Penn ST QBS running draws all over us in the first half last year??
 
I sure hope Kirk takes the wind at our backs when we kick off to them to start the second half. I hate for the opponent to get the ball and the wind to start. Put them agaisnt the wind and stop them and get a short field for a tying TD

Yes, it CAN be done. But one of our hallmarks is that our defense can play fast because we arent overly exotic with our looks/calls. So if you want to rush 3, keep 1 as a spy, you can maintain back 7 coverage integrity. If you want to rush 4, spy with a 5th, you lose zone integrity but you can still mix your coverage or play some version of man. But that really isnt Phil's MO.
