Is Logan who was setting some weight room records this off season? That's an interesting position change and an interesting depth chart battle to have play out to say the least.

I'm happy to see Jacobs in there as cash. Here's what I think that means. I think that keeps him on the field all 3 downs more. So on passing downs with 4 WRs out there it'll be Benson that comes off the field for a DB. Be it whomever that 5th DB ends up being be it DeJean Shulte or the super frosh XN or whomever. It'll be interesting to see. But regardless I thought Jacobs came off the field a lot last year and the more he's out there the better.

It remains concerning that neither the OL or DL appear to have added much weight in the offseason. With such long tackles, to have them under 300 pounds this far into their careers seems off.

We don't have a DL even sniffing 300 pounds.

Maybe this is all by design, but there does seem to be a drop off in our size since Doyle was shown the door.

Isn't this a trend in CF, a bit smaller more athletic D lines?

Who the hell is Jackson Ritter? Didn't recognize that name at all.
Yeah before last yr I didn't either. I had to look him up. Has nice size and played more last yr then you may have realized. He was out there quite a bit blocking mostly. I think he caught a ball in the bowl game. He and the Ankeny Pitcher Brecht and Johnson are all we have that are taller then 6'1. The rest are 5'10-6' tops.

3 catches last year.

He’s 6’3" and standing next to him up close he looks a lot bigger than 214. I’d easy put him 230 with my eye scale.

Need all the help we can get at that position. The Brecht kid fascinates me. He's got that golden lottery ticket of an arm for baseball it sounds like. So even if he is good at football how long will he stick with it? We can't be sure how good of a receiver he even is just yet. But he was a hell of a tall athletic looking WR at Ankeny that'd be fun to have. That's not even factoring in will BF use him very much?

Jacobs is the LEO. Castro is the Cash.
Jacobs will come off the field for better pass support - unless they decide he is better out there than Benson or Campbell in protection.

I believe those are still the weights from the begging of last fall, but I could be wrong.

Is that something they said in press conference? That's not how the chart reads (granted the chart that KF says is worthless) He has the position listed as Cash/Leo with Jacobs as #1 on it. I disagree with you I think Jacobs is going to play more than he did last yr and Benson is who'll come off the field on obvious passing downs with more WRs in the game to chase around.

I hope to see Jacobs rush the passer more once in a while and I think with him at that spot he could. In HS he had a nack for chasing down QBs It'd be fun to see us be aggressive with doing more of that.

That is pretty much how the depth chart has looked since the Cash position was implemented. They list a LB and a DB. Jacobs did not become a DB in the offseason.
