Sounds Like Marvin is Impressing in Mobile

Here's another mention of McNutt:

The concern was the exact opposite for his Big Ten rival Marvin McNutt from the Iowa Hawkeyes. McNutt has excellent size (6'2 1/2, 212 pounds), strength, hands and route-running to be a possession receiver in the NFL but didn't show much in terms of elusiveness or the speed to turn short and intermediate passes into big plays. He is a savvy route-runner, however, who was consistently open despite aggressive coverage from defensive backs.

QB, WRs emerge at Monday's North Sr Bowl practice - CBSSports.com

"He didn’t win every single matchup but he won a majority of them and he dominated his battles against Iowa State’s Leonard Johnson, beating him regularly on curls, slants and even deep nines."

Looks Johnson clown got "chippy" after following Marvin around all day.

"Marvin McNutt did not let a ball hit the ground on Tuesday"

If only he did that on Saturdays and in the bowl game.

Come on Duff.....he didn't let many balls hit the ground. And as for the bowl game, was it McNutt's fault, or was JVB off target with many of his throws?

he let plenty of balls hit the ground. his deal would be catch the impossible and drop the ones right in his hands.

I think MM has a legit shot to go in the 2nd round. He will do very well at the combine and has the intangibles to impress in interviews. Personally I would like to see him land with Philbin anf the Fins.

The Bears need a McNutt.. and that's not just being a homer.

...maybe a change in the management areas there might see them finally take an Kirk Ferentz era Hawkeye player..

The fact is the teams with good recievers have 2 or 3 really good ones and other teams have no one. There are at least 5 teams that could really use someone like Marvin.

Angelo seemed to be one of the only NFL teams to avoid Hawkeyes like the plague. Glad he is gone. Drafts safetys every year and never took a look at Considine or Sash, and still are bad at safety.

I thought the Bears should have taken a flyer on DJK last year.
Hope they take MM in the 3rd round if he is there.
Mark Bradley and Julio Inglesis? Enough with the OK. WR busts,ok?

According to Tony Pauline of SI "Marvin McNutt continues to struggle." He apparently beat Houston on a deep route but then dropped one placed right in his hands by Kirk Cousins.

McNutt to me was a receiver who made some spectacular catches but also had some inexplicable drops. In other words not consistent. A great Hawk receiver but not always consistent.
