Soon my friends, soon

Long time lurker, first time poster here. Every year in late February I dream of building a time machine in effort to bring us to September. Due to poor logistics, little funding and the fact that I live in a van down by the river, the time machine has never been built. But, here we are at the end of August and the start of football is near. I am happy to say that instead of Googling "Iowa Football" or hopping on here, only to find the same articles ya read four times in order to get some sort of football fix, we soon will be able to watch our beloved Hawkeyes. If i can siphon enough gas by the third, I plan on moving to a parking lot near Kinnick. Otherwise it's back to the O.G. football season pad a.k.a. the parking lot of my cousins bar (they play all the games.)

I'm sure somebody will hate on this thread, but i don't care because this Iowa boy is pumped to see what the 2016 Hawkeyes will do. Soon my friends, soon

First of all, welcome! Second, what is there to hate on your post? I'm struggling with the fact that HS FB season opens tonight and there's no NCAA tomorrow. Just doesn't seem right. I'm ready for it now, too! Hope you keep posting, and, if you do get that time machine built, can you help me out with some good lottery numbers?

Thank you! I appreciate it. Ehh, you know how people are sometimes. I've noticed a few high strung members on these boards, figured I might catch some flak for posting a thread that basically states I'm excited for football haha.

I feel ya on that one though. I stopped by my mom's for dinner last night and I passed by Senior High. Which, interestingly enough is the alma mater of Jay Berwanger, the first Heisman winner as well as the first person selected in the inaugural NFL draft. They recently rebuilt the football stadium and have a statue of him at the gate. But, anyway haha, I seen the JV kids playing a game and thought man I can't wait for college and pro ball to start.

Believe you me, once I get all of my ducks in a row and build that thing, you will be the first to know. I'm sticking pretty close to Doc's plans except instead of a DeLorean I'm going to use a Civic hatchback. The DeLorean is a little played out, plus some dude ditched his hatchback next to my van a few years ago.

Will the hatchback get up to 88? I'd hate for you to put all that effort into it only to have a time machine that won't go fast enough.

Solid first post! A message along with a little humor intermixed in. Well done, Sir! Yes, 8 days, 5 hours, 34 sec.

Enjoy the season. I hope it is another magical one!
