Something is seriously wrong with this team....

And it isn't fatigue or poor shooting. I think there is internal strife among the players.....something has torn them apart.

I just watched Fran's post game press conference. All 82 seconds of it. He looked like a man who has lost his team. He looked like a man who has tried everything he could to right the ship, but it isn't working. He looked like a man who is seeing things disintegrate and is powerless to stop it. He looked like a man who just doesn't know what to do.

This season is over.

The players do not look they are having fun and really havent the past couple of weeks, not like early in the Big 10 slate.

Fran and the other coaches can't coach out of poor shooting and some bad ball handling.

The lack of rebounding aggression is worrying me.

Was anyone else concerned about Uthoff's attitude coming out of the player's only meeting? He was sort of rude and short with the reporters. I suppose it gets old answering the same questions over and over. It just struck me as odd the way he responded and got me wondering how the team was getting along.

This team peaked way too soon. Not much left to do now but sit and watch it grind to a halt. Going out with a whimper is what it's called.

Yeah. They're chokers. From the coach on down.

They won't win again this season.

I got blasted for saying we wouldn't win again during the Penn State game. It looks painfully apparent we don't have the will or ability to beat Central College right now. I will still bet $100 we don't win again this season.

Than this is a reoccurring theme for Fran! I like Fran but this IMO is a Fran issue and he better figure it out and look into a mirror!!

I think it could be fatigue. No other good apparent explanation for going from one of the best and efficient teams in the nation to whatever this is. Over conditioning, burn out, whatever, it's painful to watch.

I'll go with facts...........in the last 5 games Uthoff is shooting 8 of 34 from 3 point land (23%).

So much for that "morning after" Stanzi.;)

But yet, the season isn't over. 2 games, the B1G tourney, and the Dance.....

Fran looked like a guy who has lost 4 of the last 5 and just lost a heartbreaker, nothing more. Although I am sure he is reeling and frustrated.

Fran is paid to take the heat, and I'll admit the frustration of watching timeouts unused, end of half/game okays, and poor shooting has me frustrated, even mad.

Losing sucks, it's even worse having watched the team play so much better for most of the season.

More like victims. By victims I mean they are being sacrificed along with a couple of other teams to try and get as many BIG teams in the NCAA Tourny as possible. The outcome of that game was controlled by the refs from start to finish. OSU needs to win out to get in. Ill be shocked if they don't. I don't trust the BIG in the late season games when certain teams need a few more wins to get in. Mo money! Mo money! Mo money!

JMHO

Anyone who watched that game can see this falls on Franny. His players aren't responding to him at all.

I wouldn't say we peaked too soon.
And I wouldn't say the team is imploding.

I will say the 'early' Hawks caught some teams by surprise, definitely napping/taking us lightly.
The '2nd half' teams we're playing...their coaching staffs, are scouting us and have put in gameplans to defend us.

It's working. And whatever adjustments Fran, Co., are making, if any, aren't.

This "issue' has and is affecting (infecting) this team's ability to put up a good fight, let alone win. I believe it's a systemic problem also, deeply ingrained in the heart of the basketball program itself. I don't know what and how deep these problems go, but I can't stand watching one more case of debauchery like what happened this afternoon.

Prdatr40, I think there are so many problems with this team and coaching staff that we'd be shocked at what surfaced...

While Fran bears responsibility as much as the players I don't get how watching the game proves the team is not responding to him. They're playing poorly, the increased number of turnovers and the lousy shooting are killing them - I don't see this as a lack of response to the head coach. If you're right , then shame on the players. For goodness sakes , they're trying to win a championship, and they've decided to not play for their coach?

Uthoff clearly hates Fran and wants him dead judging by his effort at the end of the game. One of the most important possessions of the game and he hides in the corner than hurries to the other end of the floor to prevent the chance that the rebound would happen to bounce his way and make him touch the ball. How in the hell does Uthoff not crash the boards on a pretty much score or lose the game possession?
