someone explain WHY the B1G would want Maryland and Rutgers?

nobody gives a crap about rutgers football and maryland is BAD in football. Maryland also has the worst unis in any sport ever. Last thing the B1G needs is 2 more mediocre football teams plus 14 team conferences make not a lot of sense.

Let me remind you that neither of those games are a gimme for Iowa atm. Matter of fact at best we would be 1-1 more than likely 0-2 against them.

I think a lot of it is going to be a numbers game to put pressure on some of these others conferences and ultimately the two major prizes are still Notre Dame and Texas. The Big 12 will have some pressure on it to compete with the Pac12 and ultimately I see the ACC failing. The Big10 will expand more and I would not be surprised if Notre Dame comes in eventually. Moving out east is a big deal for revenue and recruiting.
