Some of the responses I am getting from Husker fans

I am speaking from Kansas City in the heart of the Big 12 and Missouri/KU. If I am annoyed by Husker fans now I can't even imagine what I am going to feel like in two years. No one is denying how good Nebraska was in the 80's and 90's. The key word is WAS. That is what you and the rest of the husker fans don't get.

Read alittle more before you start refering to what i do and dont get please.

I have a feeling the Nebraska will realize what it stepped into after the first trip through the conference slate, it's going to be much different than the trip through the b12 north.

They will have the opportunity to face tOSU, PSU, Iowa, and Wisconsin and realize that they won't dominate year in and year out. They'll get beat by a northwestern, purdue, or MSU and realize that it's a struggle to get into the first division at times. I also think that Michigan can't be dead forever...

It will be great fun. Bring it on!

Dude your opening line was "You half to admit though, the 80s and 90s were awsome for nebraska." You are telling me you are different than my Husker fan friends that I know? With all do respect it doesn't seem that way. Again, no one is saying that they weren't good back then. I am pretty sure you won't find that posted anywhere here. My arguement is you are all still eating off of that history. It won't get you anywhere in the Big Ten.

Yea and USC was good in the 2000s along with Oklahoma. Thats not gloading thats just history. Please dont take that as gloading. You have had alot of nebraska fans throw crap in your face, i understand that some are ******. I will not do that, again im not gloating. And yes i am different then most husker fans you will run into. This decade has been very good for Iowa. No one is throwing hate, especialy me.

BTW I've never seen tradition win a football game. It might win a recruiting battle, it might win a TV contract, or even booster donations, but it won't ever win a football game.

There was a ******* Husker fan named Jim on 1110 KFAB today whose basic take was that B10 is not good enough for Neb. Said B12, P10, SEC, and ACC are all better athletically than B10. Also said he doesn't wan't to be in a conference that is demographically in decline, as if Nebraska isn't too! I see this type of Husker fan all the time, and I don't want to deal with them. Is this really the best you could do Delaney? Neb. doesn't match academically, and doesn't bring very many extra TV's, as Omaha already has B10 network. This proves that this is 100% about football, and several schools are going to get screwed over just because Nebraska has a historically good football team. I'm in a bad mood.

I just urge Hawk fans not to fall into the trap the ISU fell into (inferiority complex). Neb had a great run but things have changed and the new-look Big Ten ain't like the Little-8 of yesteryear.

...and doesn't bring very many extra TV's, as Omaha already has B10 network....I'm in a bad mood.

It's not the fact that Omaha already has the Big Ten network, what matters is that Omaha will now fall within the Big Ten footprint and the subscription rate will go from 10 cents per month up to 80 cents per month. Extrapolate the math for east coast cities that already have the Big Ten network yet would fall within an expanded Big Ten footprint and you can see why they are projecting the revenue from the BT Network to double.

It's pure speculation to say that going through a B10 slate will be harder or produce worse results.

While I hope it's true, it's going to be hard to tell what kind of teams will be out there in a couple of years. We're loaded with seniors and looking tough now, but what will we be like two years from now...for all we know we could be in a drought of 7-5 6-6 seasons. Then again they could be too.

All I know is, it will suck much, much more than losing to ISU if Neb even has a sniff of success in the B10, or if they beat Iowa.

Now help me if im wrong here, but in the big 10 everything is different right. If nebraska is successfull and iowa isnt, and nebraska gets into a big bowl game or a NC game god forbid. Doesnt that mean iowa and the rest of the big 10 still win. I would think that would be incentive for rooting for us in a bowl game.

I am not excited about this at all... And i think it's going to hurt Iowa.

Assuming they split the league in divisions we are doing to end up in the big 10's version of the big 12 north. This will probably hurt our recruiting in ohio and penn. And no offense to nebraska but seasons we don't play osu mich or penn st allready loose some luster. Whats' going to happen when our biggest games every year are neb and wisconsin

If you have witnesed tradition win recruiting battles, and recruiting victories translate into success on the field then you have, in a round about way, seen tradition win a football game.

Add to this point, it is also an increased number of eyeballs in the current and projected new markets for the B10 that Nebraska and it's tradition, national name recognition will likely deliver.

Bingo... although like every rivalry, there are some who will not under any circumstances root for their bitter rival.

Would Neb in an NC or BCS game be good for the B10 and ultimately Iowa? - Yes, I agree.

I'm just saying from a fan's perspective, the amount of crap spewing from Neb fans in Iowa would be exponentially greater than anything we ever get from ISU fans when they beat us.

From that perspective alone, I wouldn't mind if Neb does find the B10 slate much more difficult and humbling. Hard to say if that will happen.

I'm sure there are others on here that feel that way.

Your (N)owledge of the Big 10 somewhat flawed. We have a rival or two we'd never cheer for under any circumstances. Minny...most Hawk fans cheered for ISU in the bowl game. And Illannoy...can't think of any reason to cheer for those tools (especially with Zooker). I remember most Hawk fans reveling when USC thumped the Zookers in the Rose Bowl.

Do you think Michigan "ever" roots for tOSU or visa versa?

The average Nebraska fan (And I talk to them everyday in mass), mentions Iowa only as an afterthought when the B10 conversation takes place (B10 is the primary conversation no matter where I go in the state). They are licking their lips for the fact that they will be competing against Ohio State and Michigan more than any other team currently in the B10. Iowa is laughed at by most and not seen as being competition...

Personally, I do not mind, because I will also be the one that gets to see the look on their faces every time Iowa beats them...of course, I will be the one that also has to face them when they beat us...
