Some of the AP Voters need to be replaced

storminspank

Justin VanLaere
Scott Wolf from the LA Daily put Iowa at 16th. He put Penn State 14th, Ole Miss 10th, Nebraska 7th, Va Tech 5th.

Jon Wilner from San Jose put Penn State at 21st. Yet puts Cincy 5th, Oregon 7th, Texas Tech 14th.

??????

How can these guys honestly put those two teams there?
People like that need to be kicked out of the club.

It should be noted that the AP Poll has no bearing on anything related to college football. While fun to make reference to if your team is ranked high in this poll, it has the EXACT same amount of influence as the HawkeyeNation.com Top 25 Poll...none.

This writer clearly knew that he was wasting his time by participating thus giving no logical thoughts to his picks. It is surprising that he even put Alabama at #1.

Larger question...AP Poll is irrelevant, Coaches Poll is a sham because they can't/don't watch any other games during the year, Harris Poll is a mysterious fabrication, should the BCS get rid of the human polls in its calculation (assuming that a playoff is out of the question)?

WRONG

AP has no relation to the BCS, that does not mean no relation to college football ... they still name a national champion, it is still recognized as a valid NC, and it doesn't have to agree with the BCS ... just ask LSU & USC

Please, if the AP Poll is not involved in determining who plays in the BCS National Championship game put on by the NCAA, they can name a national champion until they are blue in the face, it's irrelevant. The crystal football doesn't go to the AP National Champ, it goes to the BCS Natioanl Champ. The AP took there poll out of the BCS because it affected the news, the news of who's the NCAA Div 1 College Football National Champion. It's irrelevant and simply a tradition they continue to spur conversation.

People still pay attention to the AP and Coaches Polls.

Moreover, the AP poll likely has some influence on the voting in the Coaches Poll, does it not? It is human nature to allow other people's opinions affect the formation of your own opinion. I wouldn't think this situation would be an exception to that rule. You may argue that the AP Poll has no direct impact on the BCS, but to say that it has no impact whatsoever is likely not true.

Just as the previous week's Coaches Poll influences the next week's Coaches Poll, I would think that the previous week's AP Poll also influences the next week's Coaches Poll.

the NCAA is not involved in organizing the BCS beyond allowing it to take place (and probably collecting a share of the profit)

The AP disallowed the BCS to continue borrowing their poll to preserve it's integrity as the stand-alone institution it has become

Even Bama fans comment on it?! wow

You deserve to have your voter privileges revoked. Iowa #16? Are you really that stupid? They beat two top 10 teams and 4 top 25 teams including one of your beloved pac 10 teams and the other three on the road.

What a joke.

We won over 99% of the voters. Let illogical troll be illogical, and we can enjoy our trophy without worrying about him.

I understand that people still pay attention and it may affect the votes of people who vote in other polls. But the writer from LA has no reason to vote logically, his inlcusion in the poll is an opportunity to arbitrarly VOTE, not an obligation to vote wisely or logically. And while the AP Poll is not apart of the BCS calculation his vote will continue to be arbitrary. Is he wrong that Iowa is the 16th best team in the country this week, I think so, but Alabama is the BCS National Champion and his votes had nothing to do with it.

Oh, and the NCAA sanctions all bowl games and most certainly reaps the financial rewards of the bowls. Alabama is the NCAA Champion because they won the BCS National Championship Game not because they are #1 in the AP Poll.
