Solution to KF

Because LSU has ridiculously high standards

So an ultra conservative coach, who struggles with clock management that is your KF solution? Btw, he is stubborn and super rigid.....yet somehow he is going to change his ways simply because he is the Iowa coach? If you want basically what you are already getting.......fine, whatever.

Les Miles can't be compared to Ferentz and certainly not Kingsbury. Kingsbury might be coaching high school in a few years. Les Miles can recruit talent just on his name while Ferentz can't recruit period. Les will end up at a major program competing for a National Championship like Texas. He wouldn't take a job like Iowa.

Most of Miles players came from within 200-300 miles of his school and could not get into Iowa. Most are from the home state.

Lets see who shows up to play for him in Purdue.....something tells me there will be a drastic "drop off" in his recruiting from LSU to Purdue....

You make KF head coach at LSU and there is no way at all he plays in two National Championship games during his first 7 years.

Actually, he probably would. You realize that national championship team was a 2 loss team lead by Matt Flynn? A shitload of NFL ready made talent even KF wouldn't eff that up.

Figured out the solution to our KF 'problem' (huge salary, mediocre results)...Take the money ($80 or $90 mil) allocated for the stupid End Zone remodel (do any of us give a rats a$$ about?), and buyout KF (or force him to retire), and get an agressive coach who is a proven winner (like Miles).

I was following you until Les miles. He's a relic at this point. Pull that guy out of south Louisiana and the 5 star recruits and he's a .500 coach

They are the same dude. At least KF can develop players. If you are going to go 7-5, I rather enjoy it with the two star from Solon.

Excellent point. Watching no name Iowa recruits like Josey Jewell turn into all Americans is the best part of being a fan of a Kirk ferentz coached team. I love that aspect.

Both great players. But, both played as freshmen. Underrated recruits, obviously. But, have they gotten a lot better? If they had no coaching at all, 3-4 years playing b1g ball would make them better. So, with coaching should mean a significant improvement.
How do you explain 5 stars who never get better.

Kirk Ferentz has what I call the "Chick Fil A" problem.

That company could make a hell of a lot more money by opening on Sundays.

They won't because their principles are too important to them and they won't compromise.

This is what Kirk is doing - we could be a hell of a lot more successful if Kirk would reevaluate his recruiting policies but he won't. He's way too blinded by his principles and philosophies and unwilling to compromise them to make a positive change.

But unlike Chick Fil A's owner, who can make whatever the hell decision he wants because he's not accountable to anyone and built his own business, Kirk should be accountable to this program, the University, the players, and the fans.

Kirk fails to see that. Time and time again control-freak Ferentz reaffirms that he's unwilling to do anything positive for the benefit of this program because of his personal philosophy and personal sense of morality.

His stunning statements from the press conference the other day are exhibit A.

Screw Kirk.

I worked at a law firm for 10 years and you know what happened to partners who actively lost our top talent to competitors, or even worse, lost clients to competitors? they were voted out of the firm immediately and replaced and not given a second thought

Kirk should have been gone yesterday. Barta is a systematic problem and cancer to this program as well

Which means what exactly?

If Miles could beat KF in 3 years it would mean he is the awesomest and KF is the worstest ever. Of course KF took down Harbaugh in their first meeting, and Harbaugh had all 4* and 5* studs to KF 2* and 3* scrubs, but he gots toots lucky....

Miles was 114-34 at LSU!! Playing against $EC opponents!. 2 National title games. All at a place NICK SABAN couldn't win at! His record at OK ST was pedestrian (first real gig, and don't think T Boone Pickens yet yet dumped the hundred million into Athletic Dept yet).

Has great recruiting ties (which we REALLY need help in that area--our recruiting philosophies would have been considered modern, if this was 1985). Prolly paying KF more than Miles made too.

We can only get by with 0 star walk-ons for so long. Our luck will run out, and 4-8 and 5-7 will be the new norm (especially with 9 BIG games now!)
