So what will happen with Marble?

Doubt it. He's just not a go to guy. Even before his "injury", he became pretty feckless after we stopped playing cupcakes. People thought he would slide into Gaten's role, but he hasn't.

I am not convinced he is 100% as he is missing that burst when he drives to the hoop. But he needs to be able to play through it. He is not making good decisions with the ball and his shot looks horrible.

That's not true. He has been a go to guy before his injury. Remember that against Wisconsin and Minnesota last year he made several plays down the stretch to win the games.

I think Marble will be fine by the end of the year. I don't think he will be the super stud that many on here predicted he would be, but I think he'll be the Marble we saw earlier this year.

There's a world of difference between cupcakes, and Michigan/Indiana. There's a lot in between, and he's not been healthy to play the in between teams.

Turf toe will do that to a guy (the horrible-looking shot). As wimpy as that title sounds, it's usually not an injury worth playing with. It will keep getting worse as he plays on it, and his level of play will reflect that.

What we're seeing right now is a guy who looks lost. In my opinion, he doesn't know what to do out there because the things he's used to doing effectively are things he physically can't do with this injury.

I remember his dunk on Ralph III last year in Carver towards the end of the game. Otherwise he was pretty average in the 4 games against Minny and Wisky last year.

I predict regardless of the outcome of this season whether good or bad after Marble realizes he isn't going pro this year he will come back extemely motivated his senior year and lead us to one of our greatest seasons ever.

This year, he's averaging 9.6 points per game in the BoneG. That is not a go to player.

He hit two huge mid range jumpshots and had a great assist to a cutting Cartwright in the final stretch of the game in Madison last year.

His stat line at Wisconsin wasn't spectacular, but he hit a couple big shots late in that game. It's not always about bulk numbers. Sometimes when you hit your shots is more important than how many shots you hit.

He's been playing hurt for almost that entire stretch. And the one game he was actually 100% for, he was guarded by Victor Oladipo, who can make almost any player in the country look average. Marble looked bad because he's not an elite player. But that doesn't necessarily mean he can't be a go-to guy at this level.

But judging a guy's stats when he's been nowhere near full speed in over a month isn't exactly fair.

He is the best player on the team. He is now hurt and seems to be about 75% of his normal self. Not sure why FM doesn't let him just rest, but I guess he prolly knows more about it than me. Hard to believe, I know.

If he's out there playing 30 minutes a game, I think any criticism is fair. If he's too hurt to play, he shouldn't be playing. If he's too hurt to be effective, he shouldn't be playing. However, they claim he's 100%, he's playing top minutes on the roster, therefore, I think any criticism is valid.

He's sliding right into the role of most criticized player that Gatens filled his junior year and half of his senior year.

Criticizing the fact that he's out there is fair, IMO. I don't think he should be out there, and feel like somebody is lying when they say he's alright. But the fact that Willis Reed scored 4 points while playing hurt didn't make him a non-go to guy. It just meant he was hurt. Marble's hurt, and anyone with half a good eye can see that.

Uhh no. Oglesby is filling that role just fine, thank you. Eerily similar to the criticism Gatens took as a younger player.

And if Willis Reed f'ed the game up, no one would say "Oh well, he was hurt. Can't criticize him for trying".
