So... what Bowl Game is most likely

If we assume 8-4 record, what say you? and If we assume 7-5 record...

I've lost track of the bowl tie-ins. Heck I saw a projection a week or so ago saying Iowa would play Washington in Vegas.

crazy

I don't think it will be Music City because we played there 2 of the past 3 years.

I don't think it will be Outback unless we win 8.

I think it will be Las Vegas, which would be very attractive to Iowa fans.

I've always absolutely hated seeing conference teams play each other in Bowl games. With the exception of BYU and Colorado last year. Can't stand prime and thought it was hilarious that they managed to dodge all the other teams at the top of conference with them only to see one and absolutely get steamrolled by them in the Alamo Bowl. That was a blast to watch.

7-5.

International Dart Board Manufacturers Association Bowl presented by Schiermeyer Muffler, vs. the 5-7 Eastern Idaho County (OH) University Wattlebirds.

7 AM kickoff, Dec. 11 in scenic Tioga, ND, home of historic Jerry R. Harvmlingerston Memorial Field. Also home of the Class AA state champs 1972-75, and the site of the ND girls state record shuttle hurdle relay set in 1989 by the Lendenwood Consolidated Lady Eagles.

Seriously people...what the eff do you get interested in this stuff for? These aren't bowl games. They're exhibition scrimmages. Let's finally call 'em what they are.

God it must suck being this unhappy all the time. What would you rather being doing on December 29th than watching the Hawks play football?????

Seriously, the first part was hilarious. You forgot to add that it is being broadcast on ESPN8 The Ocho.

Seriously, seriously, I know you hate bowl games, but why? Isn't every game where Iowa has been eliminated from the conference title and CFPB pretty much an exhibition game? What meaning does the MSU game really have? Not much. I am still going to be locked in and watching the game. I love Iowa football. I would watch practice if they livestreamed it. It doesn't have to mean something for me to care about it. That is what makes college football so cool.

Iowa vs. Iowa State in the Alamo Bowl.
If that happens it should be an alumni game. Pick your players in a draft and only one per graduation year. We pick Brett Bielema, you have to pick a DL from '92...

Brett would have a heart attack being long snapper, but I guarantee you he'd show up with a jersey that made his Tigerhawk tattoo visible. Is Jim Walden still alive?

I'm not mad in the least. I'm very happy as a matter of fact.

My beef with bowl games is when I was growing up they meant something and it was a big deal to make one. Now they give everyone a bowl game and all it means is you lost the same amount that you won. So I'm fine having meaningless games, just don't call them bowls anymore. Call them exhibition games. Do that and I'll get on board.

As far as regular season games, I get locked in and watch all of them. They still have significance to standings and when it gets to the point in the season where the Hawks have eliminated themselves from the playoffs (as has happened every single year at some point)...there's always still nebraska. I get more emotionally involved in that game than any other in the season. I will be WAY more fired up about losing to nebraska than I was with Indiana, Oregon, and USC combined. So yeah, I do get invested in regular season games. I also want to finish with a better record than them, so this MSU game is mucho important.

As far as what I'd rather be doing after the football season than watching Iowa in an exhibition game, fishing, napping, watching Die Hard, cooking...

My office shuts down for 2 weeks every Christmas so I have a staycation every year where I pretty much do whatever I want. I watch lots of football, and as far as the no-name exhibition games, they don't interest me. If I'm fishing or whatever else, I'll watch the Hawks the next day on replay where I can fast forward through commercials.

But no, I'm not angry at all. Just think they're really stupid games and like making fun of them and the people who think it's some kind of big accomplishment. Irritating the masses who get angry when I make fun of them, you could say.

And by the way...what I was doing with that post sure worked on you, didn't it? :)

I'll see you in Tioga, it's a nine and a half hour drive for me. You better be there.

You throw in players who sit out the bowl games, which is the portal guys and guys who look to invest in their draft and you often have a very different team than what played in the regular season. With the CFP, the games become somewhat of a consolation prize for everyone else.

However, I will watch. Hate the NBA. So besides watching college basketball and wrestling, I watch some of the Australian Baseball League on computer waiting for Spring Training to begin.

I'm off the 22nd through the 5th and they pay us for it as part of our benefit package, so I get too bored to watch football the whole time. I'm building a new workbench into the back wall of the garage and have a few other projects sprinkled in. I'll have the garage tv on with football in the background but that's about it. Might go fishing a day or two but that depends on the ice. There's a couple shows I want to binge, and that's about it. Hope to god I'm not moving snow at all.
