So what are the chance ISU does anything with their season after Superbowl win?

You say this because it in some small way validates your very existence to know that your schools football team squeaked out a victory, at home, in triple overtime, against big brother. Congratulations on a successful season!

Did you watch yesterdays game. Take everything else out of the equasion but the QB. That alone should tell you where that team is heading.

ISU still has a very tough schedule. It's concievable that they could only win two or three more games this year.

Iowa on the other hand has L-M, Mn, Purdue and a nice home stretch through Oct-Nov.

ISU flat out won yesterday. If both teams remain healthy both will improve. This is not Dan McCarty' or Gene Chezik's ISU teams any more than this is Bob Commings or Hayden Fry' s Iowa teams. History is irrelevant ad a predictor.

ISU is strong right now where Iowa is weakest. But as yesterday showed they are pretty evenly matchwd right now.

I think both teams are mid/ low tier bowl teams at seasons end if they stay healthy. I also think both teams (if healthy) will improve. Iowa is likely deeper and can maintain a bit better with injuries.

Kudos to Isu. They played harder and outcoached UI all day long, that's for sure. That being said, say both QB's go down with injuries(heaven forbid for either school). Iowa will still be competitive, ISU will be done, that's how valuable Jantz is and that's the difference in these two teams. IMO

Two words: Sore Loser. :(

What has Derby or Weinke done to make you say this? I think your problem is D. Good luck against Persa, Robinson, Martinez...

I don't understand the bitterness, ISU won fair and square, they made plays and did what it took to win. I'm not sure they're a person out there that wouldn't be estatic with Steele jantz in an Iowa uniform. In two weeks, all he's done is make plays and win. I like Jim's comparison to Drew Tate.

ISU(7-5)--- If Jantz/Knott stay healthy or healthy enough to play.

Iowa????---I just don't know I'm with SDK46 on this the Pitt game will tell me a lot. I am hoping at some point Davis, Lowery, and Bernstine will be a factor on defense. JVB will get better, a second back emerges, as Jon mentioned yesterday tweaking their philosophy based on the personnel they have. If some of this happens then MAYBE 8-4.

You act like Iowa is the best team ISU plays this year.

ISU will probably have a medicore record, but it has nothing to do with "blowing their load" against Iowa and everything to do with having an extremely difficult schedule, as Iowa won't be one of the top 5 or 6 teams we play.

When ISU has beaten Iowa 8 times since 1998. In 6 of those seasons ISU has finished with a better or same record than Iowa. ISU tends to beat Iowa when the Hawks just aren't that good. 2002 is the only really good Hawk team has beaten.

ding, ding, ding............We have a winner here folks.

I had the same thoughts last night.........I hope I am wrong.

I predicted 5 and 7 for the Cyclones. May have to bump that to 6 and 6. They have been at home and now go on the road. This is where they struggle traditionally. I can't wait to get them back in Iowa City next year. Cy had his day for this decade.

You better check KF's record against ISU before you predict this is the last ISU win in a decade.

Let me amend my ISU record to 6-6, It is ISU so a missed FG will cost them at least one game.
