No, If we would of beat NW and made the championship game their was a slim chance to make the tournament. Now we probably have to win a game(maybe 2) to make the Nit.
 




We have 0 shot at beating at IL. Ok, a 5% chance if Gatens goes for 30 and Leonard fouls out. Here is what we can count on:

* solid performances from Gatens and White
* McCabe will foul out with 4-6 points
* Basabe will have one dunk, 2 blocks and 4 fouls
* Marble and Cartwright will have negative assist to turnover ratios
* IL has better athletes and will feed Leonard for multiple lob dunks
 


Meyers Leonard will not be a problem on thursday IF...

1. We do a better job finding him on switches.

2. We double down on him quicker.

3. We make him watch heart warming and/or sad videos before tip-off.
 




I very much wanted to win today. That said, I don't think we would have beaten Goldy 3x this year. I would love to beat Illinois.
 




I think there is a good chance to beat Illinois on a neutral court. That team is an emotional wreck right now. Players are upset that their coach is going to be fired and instead of using that as incentive to go on a run they have fallen apart.
I predict that Iowa beats Illinois. But, for the poster that claimed Leonard is terrible........that might be the most contrary opinion on a player I've heard all year. He's inconsistent for sure. But, terrible isn't even close to accurate.

Leonards only trouble in the second half was his guards quit throwing him the ball. If we had someone like Leonard on this years team, I would want a throw into the post on every possession.
 








Let Brommer, Archie, and Olesani take turns on Leonard. Be physical and beat him up a little bit. Don't let somebody with any offensive game get in too much trouble foul wise guarding him.
 


Leonard was like 7-7 from FT last time. Fouling may not be the best thing, but we have to do something. a zone may be the best as long as it is a fluid zone and doesn't get stagnant which we have seen happen a few time.s
