I'm still very excited about the rest of this season, and the future of Hawkeye basketball under Fran. tOSU will be a #1 seed in the tourney. You can take that to the bank. tOSU's 10th best player is better than our best player so I'm really not too upset about the loss today. It would have been closer if we hadn't shot 20% and gotten some, uh, questionable officiating throughout the game. tOSU is just damn good, and they showed why. Sullinger is a top 5 NBA draft pick. Not worried at all.

I didn't expect to win this game, but was very disappointed in the way things fell apart immediately once Iowa cut it to a 22-19 game. It was all OSU the rest of the way.

That said, I'm still excited about the FUTURE of Iowa Basketball, and still plenty to play for yet this year.

I just think this game serves as a very rude reminder of where Iowa Basketball is still sorely lacking: Post players and outside shooters.

None of that is Fran's fault (thanks Lick). We have help coming next year. But for now, we are still outgunned by many of our opponents.

Fran has already coached them up, judging by the Wisconsin & Minnesota wins. But I don't think anyone can deny this roster still has some holes to fill.

In order for a coach to "coach them up" there has to be a little bit of something there to begin with.

Unfortunately, the only returnee from the non-Fran era, Gatens, is showing any kind of something. The rest can't graduate soon enough.

Has anyone noticed that both Wisky and Minny have lost again after we beat them...Maybe those teams are a lot weaker than what we are giving them credit for. It's not to say we haven't improved a bunch but maybe we caught them at just the right time. It's probably somewhere in the middle for that matter as far as how good we actually are.

This game established nothing long term about Iowa basketball. Ohio State is really good. Losing to them doesn't take away from beating Wisconsin and Minnesota on the road, even if one wants to argue they're not as good as thought. Flush the game, and get back to playing good basketball, because the next 3 games are no picnic. If they win 1 of the next 3 I think they've done well. A 3-4 start, with those 7 games, would be beyond the expectations of about 99% of Hawkeye fans, I'm guessing.
