So let me get this straight...Tucker has a drinking problem now? Come on people!

It's pretty evident he has a problem. His PI last year was a result of him being passed out in an alleyway. I don't care how old you are, if you are drinking to the point you are passing out drunk in an alleyway it's a pretty good indication of a drinking problem. Now he gets a second in the course of 1 year? I'd say it's more than likely he has now, or is working his way toward a serious problem.

That being said lets hope he gets himself right.

Either that, or it's the sign of someone who doesn't know their limits and had too much - which is something that most of us have been through at some point in our lives.

Reading the various articles about this, it sounds like he got into an argument with a cab driver after he got a ride home, so at least there is that.

How many of us drank while going to college? If you say you didn't, then you are either a liar, or you really kept to yourself during those 4+ years. The vast majority of us attended parties, or had a few drinks with the buddies in the old dorm room from time to time. Friday and/or Saturday night.

The question is - what did Anthony do behind closed doors, on a day to day basis? If he was drinking every day, then maybe he has a problem. But that's not info that I'm privvy to.

Anthony Tucker has a higher standard to live up to than the average dumb-*** drunk college boy for two reasons. First, he is a scholarship athlete, and that is part of the deal whether you like it or not. Second, he already broke that contract twice last year, and hirt his team greatly in the process.

Playing college basketball in exchange for a free education is a privilege, not a right. If the report is true Anthony has abused that privilege...again. If the report is true he should not play basketball at Iowa again IMO.

The difference is that he is on scholarship and a D1 basketball player. When you accept a scholarship I think there are some sacrifices that you make. He has let his teammates down. Teammates are one of the things you sacrifice for. I have a little different feeling about that in the off season. If you want to drink a little that your business. Not during the season!

I hope he indefinite suspension is permanent. If he wants back on the team he can try it on his own dime and earn his way back on. If not, let's open up a scholarship. Lick has a good class coming in so maybe he's on a roll. We don't need that type of leadership.

The other point is the drinking. Want to have a few drinks? Ok. Passed out after drinking? I think not.

All you have to do is not get got...I've been pretty hammered walking around in IC and never even had a cop look at me funny...you know a guy like that is running his mouth off at anyone and acting the fool...thinks hes a bmoc but hes just a ldoc

From what I remember, Chris Kingsbury never drank at all in college.

That was a different time. Back then, him getting pinched for public intox (if that happened) could have been handled internally without the public ever hearing of it.

These days, every Cyclone fan with an internet connection has the Iowa City police blotter on their favorites list, and it's the first thing they check every morning.

Ahhh yes, BI, a simpler time....

What? That was in the DMR? didn't know that lol

They ran an article during the season about how some people at the University thought the song was inappropriate, as it mentioned alcohol. Keep in mind, these are the same types of people who got upset when the new visitors locker room got it's customary pink paint job.

This is about Tucker, not Kingsbury or any other relativist bent you are trying to throw in. Its Tucker's bad and other athletes, other students, even Tiger Woods, dont matter. Face it, he isnt as great as you thought, he has abused a great opportunity, and he must go.
