So...Iowa has to take one...

In the rear end, so Indiana and Purdue can play a meaningless rivalry game. These two great football powerhouses must play to keep their historically meanless rivalry going. Come on, it's like giving Indiana a pass.

Indiana wins and they get the New Year's six bowl...when the better team is likely Iowa...especially with Penix out. This wreaks of some sort of deal...we allow OSU to play in the championship and you don't cause a fuss, and we give you Pur-don't. I hope Brohm beats them...and I hate Brohm.

Iowa and Indiana should be playing for that bowl opportunity. Jesus...let them earn it on the field.

Not sure how the Big Ten front office could have screwed this season up more. No games...then some games...won't change a rule to allow a teM to schedule a game. .....then change a rule to suit OSU...then change another rule to have a series of shifty games scheduled. Remember what broke up the old Big 12 was thier head honchos kissing Texas and Oklahoma butts. Teams may get.pretty tired of all the ass kissing of Ohio State.

The first time and probably the last time I will say this: Playing Michigan is irrelevant. Obviously the old wooden bucket or whatever it is called matters more. Which is dumb as hell.

I think this is all politics by the Big 10 brass. They changed the rules to get OSU in the title game where they will most likely win, getting them into the CFP. They are protecting Indiana because they changed the rules to keep them out of the title game, giving them a game they will most likely win, thus getting them a better bowl opportunity. Iowa gets Michigan, a game they should win giving them a better bowl game. I haven’t seen the other matchups, but I’m sure it all it set up to benefit the conference as a whole.

Not even close to the same scenario

Now that you put it like that, it definitely does wreak of a back room deal and handshake, doesn't it?

The Big 10 has definitely moved the goal posts this season. This season of weird - 2020!!

I never thought I'd hear the day fans clammering to play Indiana and pissed about having to play Michigan. Hell halluf frozen over!!

You can combine Indiana and Purdue football fans and you'd still have a smaller group than most of the programs in the B1G. The old oaken bucket is a yawner.

Minnesota/Wisconsin for the axe is a better rivalry game.

It's a yawner for us much like Cy Hawk trophy game is a yawner for them. I'd speculate the people in Indiana care more about playing Purdue for the bucket than playing Iowa. Besides, it's a MUCH easier path for them to get a NY6 bowl bid.

We want Indiana over Michigan because beating Indiana is probably the only way Iowa could get into the NY6 picture.

Purdue has been playing really poorly, wracking up losses to the likes of Rutgers, Nebraska, and Minnesota ... But I still think they have a shot on Friday in a rivalry game. IU's offense hasn't needed to keep pace with anyone since Penix was injured.

Purdue should put up more points than Wisconsin. I would think the first team to 27 wins it.

If IU loses to Purdue and Iowa rolls Michigan, both team's resumes are near identical and I would think Iowa gets the nod for momentum's sake.

Garbage situation, but it might resolve itself.

Perhaps, but I'd suggest there are a lot more people in IOWA engaged in the Cy Hawk than there are Indiana folks excited about the bucket.

I doubt we play Michigan. They will opt out and use COVID as excuse. They don't want to be beat bad by Iowa on national TV. No game for Iowa next week, but I would pay to watch Rutger beat nebraska

Yes, big 10 scheme to get most bang for buck it seems, sacrificing Iowa, the rules that they set at the beginning to get the biggest bang. Killing Michigan isn't all bad, should be low stress kinda game for us. Hope we can get a challenging game for the bowl game should we get one.

Honestly there isn't one interesting game on the Big 10 slate. I get why they did it, but if I were home I still wouldn't watch these games.

Exactly...it's like who wants to see a rematch of Oklahoma - Iowa State. Who cares...a couple of two loss teams...one to Louisiana. Louisiana should be ahead of Iowa State, per logic.

The best team Matt Campbell has ever had...didn't beat Iowa. Wait, Matt Campbell has never beaten Iowa. Weird.

You'd rather watch a bunch of mismatched games between good teams and bad teams?

You think this Oklahoma team is like past Oklahoma teams? Ok. The reality is we really don't know how good the B12 is...and it's likely not good...considering one of the top teams got beat by Louisiana...and not only got beat...but got physically abused. Louisiana ran the ball the length of the field over and over again late in the fourth quarter...no throws...just pounded the Cyclones like B10 teams do. Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run...touchdown! THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO GOOD TEAMS LATE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER.

Seriously...a manhood removing drive...and ISU just whimpered and took it. Hell Campbell wouldn't even call a timeout...as he just wanted it to end.
