There is always one guarantee when it comes to message boards. When you leave for awhile and come back you will always be presented with a new Internet tough guy. Shocker
I think you mean old Internet tough guy

Read it slowly and out loud, that might help you.
Having said that, I still think we will ultimately be better off without KoK, even if that happens not be GD. But it is going to be GD. It is what it is.
If last year's team could win 4 games and be that "close"
to a few more wins this team can get at least 4 wins even with a tougher schedule.
Last year's team was two plays away from being 2-10 with the easiest schedule that Iowa has had in my lifetime.
Stupid argument....
Notre Dame was 6 plays away from 6-6
I'm usually the positive guy in the room. I've predicted that Iowa will get double-digit wins way more times than it has actually happened. But this team and this staff are looking pretty poor to me right now. I'm thinking we beat Missouri St and upset someone in conference (Michigan St?), and that's about it. So, if I am right, after we go 2-10 this season, what happens?
No doubt, with a post like that I wonder if he's excited about the start of the season. Maybe I'm out of my mind, but everyone is 0-0 at this time of year. If you can't be excited about the start of the season and are anticipating the thought of your team going 2-10 why even follow them.
Not trying to call out OP or take a shot at him, but I'm one of the fans that coem into the season with a positive outlook thinking we'll turn the corner. I just don't know if I could honestly get into something that I thought would turn out really bad (primary reason I don't play golf).
Ok, maybe I am missing something then. Why are both not valid arguments? Everybody knew that ND was not the second best team in America last year.
I admire your optimism. But I've been watching Hawkeye football for over 20 years, so it's not a matter of lack of perspective. I know what a crappy team looks like, I was at UI in the late 90s. Did you not see the half-brained, unintelligent, crap approach Iowa had last year. We were in the tailspin before the injuries against PSU (I was there). I was also there for CMU ... for which there was no excuse (and if you try to offer one ... wow).
We were coming off of a blowout win vs Minny and a win at MSU,and we were in a tailspin? I disagree. Yes, we lost to CMU because of a weird onside kick snafu..if we fall on a bouncing ball a second time, we have a 4 game winning streak coming into PSU. PSU was a debacle, I agree, but claiming that we were in tailspin at 2-0 in the Big Ten is not accurate. Why stop a 2-10? Why not 0-12? Or 10-2? Games are played on the field...I believe.
Every team that won or lost a game by 6 or less can make the exact same excuse. You are what you record is. I mean we could also say we were 5 plays from 9-3.......we weren't 9-3 or 2-10, we were 4-8.
Ok, but what's wrong with looking at details like that? It tells you how strong or weak a team was. In ND's case, looking at those details should have stopped them from being number 2. Looking at Iowa last year, the details tell you that the team was actually worse than their record, let alone the offense was what, 115th?
