Snake Update Jon?

Was that to pizz the neighbor off he's feuding with?
Um, I don't think Jon knows that he has feuding neighbor, let alone how the snakes got in there.

I do believe the lions were brought in to kill an owl in his barn. Not sure how that works.

I enjoy the podcasts and recently they have been excellent on analysis and commentary..... but I have been wondering how the new 'home on the range' with snakes is going.

Screw $$$ Africa, I'm going on a Safari on Jon's acreage!

Snake update: Not another sighting since the incident in the laundry room...and all of that was 100% true. I've done a lot of caulking around the place and closing all entry points for rodents. I spent 90 minutes weedeating both sides of our creek bank last night and didn't see a one, which I was surprised with...I know we will see more, as it's the country...but I just hope we have seen the last of them IN the house. It had been vacant for nine months prior to our purchasing it, so that did not help matters.

That said, we've 'captured' over 20 brown recluse spiders on sticky pads in the last week...the last house we bought down here, similar thing after we moved in...we sprayed for critters, on the baseboards, which sent the recluse scurrying...after a while, things settle down.

I cannot stand those things....give me a black widow over a recluse any day...and I have seen a few widows as well back by the AC unit that I have killed.

The creepy crawlies in Oklahoma are one of the biggest drawbacks to living here....if you have a house, you have brown recluse spiders and they are next to impossible to eradicate.

Speaking of snakes. Enjoy the Chicago reinvention of Mark Dantonio. It would be nice if they did some research.

Boy, and I thought that Wolf spider the size of a half dollar I found in my sun room was bad. Thought it was a tarantula going across the floor, but nothing compared to all those brown recluse and snakes. You are making me cross Oklahoma off my list.
I suppose if a home was vacant for a period of time and dark, the critters would find a place to set up shop.

Glad to hear they are getting less and less and everything is settling down.

Now, I understand why Bob Stoops retired.

My wife would NEVER go in that house again. I don't care if the exterminator guaranteed that another snake would ever be on the property again. Hell, I don't know if I could sleep at night knowing I could have a friend in bed with me.

My wife is still struggling a bit...that and killing about 20 brown recluses the past three weeks....can't say she feels settled yet...but I warned her this wasn't going to be like living in the burbs.

I heard that no matter where you are, there is always a spider within 15 feet of you. Of course, they are good at keeping out of sight.

My wife is from Stillwater. Played the first part of this podcast for them and they both just smiled and said "yep, Oklahoma." We live in Colorado, but I'd bet we end up in Oklahoma before it's all done.
