Smith

Well, now we know. And no need to change our game plan. Do we even have one, just askin? Next man in, contribute and make plays.

If he misses Minnesota, then PJ is truly sitting on a pile of lucky horseshoes this year.

I hope beyond hope that he is back for Wisconsin. Those d-backs will beat on Nico and ISM like a rented mule.

Minnesota has not played a conference team this year that has played with its starting QB.

Maryland would be the first if their QB holds on for the next few days.

Dang. Well by the way he went down and just the way that looked I didn't think it'd be a 1 or 2 week thing it looked worse then that actually. So let's hope he gets healthy and can have a strong finish to the season.

Wow. Didn't realize that.

That contributes to those 5 conference foes (counting UMD) having 5 conference W's between them (16 L's).

After Maryland, the Goofs last 4 opponents currently have 9 conference W's (w/ NW contributing 0 to that)

In order to be fair, Purdue and Illinois did begin those games with their starting QBs. Nebraska & Rutgers didn't have them at all.

I can’t imagine our WR group is much worse than Illinois and they had their way with the Wisconsin secondary.

Didn't it seem like Illinois RBs and WRs both made Wisconsin's secondary look bad? Illinois was even without arguably the top WR for the entire game and their skill guys made the Badgers DBs look slow.

I thought Illinois only completed 9 ot 21 passes that day for pedestrian yardage.

They had like a 70 yard passing TD called back for some phantom penalty that had nothing to do with UW’s making a good play in the secondary. That would completely change your stats.

Wisconsin’s secondary missed tackles all day and looked fairly slow.

They might eat Iowa alive because their defense as a whole is very good, I’m just not convinced it’s their secondary. Who’s the best passing team they’ve played this year? Michigan?

You're right about the 9 for 21

But it was for 174 yards so about 20 yards a completion. Illinois did some damage there. One problem was they barely had the ball. Wisconsin literally doubled them up in TOP: 40min to 20min. But Illinois average the same amount of yards per pass attempt as Wisconsin and more yards per carry.

I was not at all impressed with Wisconsin's DBs.
