Slaton status?

Well I sure hope Joey does get his degree and that the higher ups give him the ok to wrestle..no knock on Marion ,but IMO Joey has nationals experience and plus is his last year Marion will be great with more mat time ..GO HAWKS ..

Setting aside the advantages to the team of having him compete at this year's NCAAs, it would be beneficial for his future coaching career to go out on a high note as a 2-time AA.

this cracks me up sounds like he spending more time trying to talk iowa into letting him compete than school work....hes gotta be stressed out with all this drama

For Joe's sake, I would like to see a final decision made and announced. Agree pin2win, I am guessing that this is weighing very hard on him. I am glad to see that he is still with the team and supporting his teammates. From the Flowserve video, it looks like he is practicing pretty tough in the room.

indeed putting it too dennis from 'those' highlights

theres a time when you just have to throw in the towel and concentrate on school and count your lossed you know

I was just told that we will be hearing some OFFICIAL "good" news sometime tomorrow regarding Joe!

BossTom - any word on this topic? I take it we won't hear anything again today...what about Monday? Any rumblings since the team left for Utah yesterday? Thanks.

Any rumblings since the team left for Utah yesterday?

Ironside was on the Gym Class (1600am) today. Was on the show, by phone, since he was in Utah. He had been on the road lately, and was out of the loop. Said that he had not talked to Tom to hear if any decision was reached.

Have it on very reliable info that, again, it's a no. Barring lawyers and injunctions don't expect to see Joe wrestle for the Hawks again.

Thank Jane Meyer, Iowa Assistant AD and the dumb bit$h that almost pushed Ferentz out the door, for this.

Maybe Jane is to blame for the final decision, I don't know, but I think Joe has some blame to take for this as well. Many other guys on the team and none of them had to get special requirements set up to become eligible again. Not bashing Joe, he made mistakes as we all do, but others were able to make grades and stay eligible, he could have as well.
