Signed Letters Coming In

Now it looks like Wolf will be signing with UNI for football and walking on for basketball.

I don't get this at all. He has a chance to play P5 football, it is dumbfounding really. I mean even if Illinois came in with a late offer, it is still a P5 school and is a no brainer to take that over a UNI offer. I guess everyone is different and if this is what the kid really wants, good for him, hope he does well at UNI.

Wolf grew up in Cedar Falls. His parents are UNI graduates. He's built a relationship over time with Farley and Jacobson. He wants to play two sports in college.

Would I do the same thing? I don't know. I'm not in his shoes.

Well it's also a matter of he may think he'll play day 1 there or at least considerably sooner than he would at Iowa if at all... I dunno if that's it at all either just guessing as well. The 2 sports thing is tough to do if he's going to give that a go I suppose that'd be easier to pull of there than at Iowa as well.

Dang he plays violent too. I like how when he's sizing up hitting someone he accelerates just as he does. I hadn't seen much anything on him thanks for posting that.
No only does he bring the lumber, love that angle he took at the 40 second mark on the kid running down the right side. We've seen some B1G senior safeties who can't figure out angles that well. Then he strips the ball for the fumble. What a play.

For sure. It's easier to gauge those angles when your faster than who your chasing down. But yeah we've had some bad angles taken by both safetys and LBs this year. That's a tough thing to coach as you just have to do it in real time over and over

So 20 recruits from 11 different states ... 5 from Iowa, 4 from Illinois, 2 from Michigan, 2 from Florida and one each from Missouri, Indiana, Colorado, Georgia, Wisconsin, Alabama, Ohio.

Has he reached his goal of 500 pounds yet? That's like getting 2 players for the price of 1.

Seems like a good class. Its hard to look at what Michigan and Penn State did and not cringe though. The playing field...she is not even.

I really like this group! I was pleasantly surprised to see the Hawks grab a 3rd TE. Wonder how many spots are left open and what positions they will be targeting? I believe Iowa’s main focus in February will be to find and identify some more WR prospects and maybe another DB or DT. Would like to see some decent freshman recruits emerge. If not, there is always the JUCO and transfer route.

Looks like they rank Iowa 5th in the division.

#24 Nebraska
#25 Purdue
#29 Wisconsin
#33 Minnesota
#42 Northwestern
Hmmm -- Maybe Iowa should have gone 4-8, 6-6, 7-5 and 6-6, respectively, then we'd be a lot happier. NW totally got screwed by winning the West.
