SIAP: I am friggin pumped!

I look forward to seeing the Iowa defensive line controlling this game. The weak and young Tennessee o line will be dominated!

This. Over and over this. That is the only really interesting thing about it. And really, that only got really interesting with the revelation that the QB position is being considered "open" by the coaches and the Beathard interview comments. Really couldn't care much less about the game itself as I think the season is a lost cause, but REALLY hoping CJ absolutely lights it up and creates at least SOME excitement in Iowa football.

I'm looking forward to the bowl game because bowl games are always fun regardless, but this is pretty much where I'm at. The outcome of the game against a 6-6 team (win or lose) doesn't do much in my mind to change my view of the season. It won't add a win against a top team, but won't really add to the disappointment of the regular season if they lose, either, because I already view it as a mediocre season.

Particularly, I'm interested to see how the JR/CJB situation plays out, if things are opened up on offense somewhat. Or not.

Like everyone, I'm watching to see how much or if CJ plays. But I also wanna see if KF will give LeShun Daniels some series or does he still have a mancrush on MW and the stretch play?

I fully expect Kirk to open things up today. What I am interested in, is whether he continues to do this next season, or if he pulls the offense back into its shell.

This is the one exciting positive we may be able to take from today's game, if this does indeed happen. The second part of your statement is what would concern me, though. We've heard things about going more up-tempo/no-huddle at times in the past couple years, just to seem them try it a bit and then pull back and revert to the standard KF style of offense.

I'm always excited for Iowa football. This season may not have gone how I hoped it would, but we get an extra game and hopefully can go out on a positive note.

Yeah this isn't the bowl we hoped for but this is a big game in terms of momentum for next season, and could very well determine the future of CJ at Iowa.

Volnation has already begun their game thread an hour ago and it's up to 7 pages.

I remember when the Iowa fanbase was all giddy with a bowl game. sigh....................

That's probably what it was like in 2001 (did we even have message boards back then?) for Iowa fans after getting to a bowl game for the first time in a few years. The program was on the way up, and everything felt fresh. 13 years later, a much different feel.

I'll be watching like always but this is the first year for me to be anxious for next year. There has been very little enjoyment watching the Hawks play this year. It's actually been difficult to watch this year and if KF uses the same game plan as he has all season I'll be looking forward to the off season. If KF changes things up then I'll fall into the trap of being excited for next year hoping for change and big things to come.

I wasn't excited for this game until the B1G smashed opponents yesterday. Now, I want the Hawks to complete the dismantling of the SEC.
