SI 2011 Mock Draft

only if he has other off field issues. right now we're dealing with the singular, not the plural.

There is no way he is the 7th DE. He may be that low, but only if there is a run on other positions. Everything I have heard is that Clayborn is a great guy and I think that his character will actually help him, not hurt him.

With all the talk about Clayborn the last two days, I have been wondering what his natural position in the NFL would be. Is it a DT in a 3/4? Is it an end in a 4/3? I am not sure. He isn't one of those pure speed rushers from the outside. He is more a combo guy.

What do you think?

I've seen Clayborn projected top 5 in a lot of mock's. This guys a tool

What about the tools last year that projected Bulaga in their top 5?

It is very possible Bowers, Quinn, and Heyward could go before AC but I'm not sure about the other 3 going before him. This would likely move him out of the top 10 if these 3 did go before him though.

He also has Gabbert going ahead of Locker, who will most likely be the top pick next year. Tells me all I need to know about this tool.

I think he would be a beast as a 3-4 end. I also think he has the necessary skills to be a 4-3 end in the league with the ability to slide inside in obvious pass rush situations. I think his flexibility to fit in multiple schemes and play multiple positions will be attractive to pro teams.

I am kind of thinking the same thing. I said, DT in 3/4, but I meant end. He might also be a good bookend for a speed rusher in a 4/3.

McLovin is an idiot, a likeable idiot but still an idiot. If anybody listens or watches the Dan Patrick show he's on it.

His mock draft is laughable, and Clayborn being the 7th DE taken is only the tip of the iceberg.

He will play end in either sceme. No question, doesn't matter. Here's to hoping he becomes a Bear next year to play across from Julius Peppers. That would be scary for a quarterback to line up against.

"Trust in kiper fellas"

Ask Jimmy Clausen about Mel Kiper

I think we can trust him on this one. After the run on offensive tackles at the top of this year's draft, it'd be pretty fair to expect a lot of DE's to be taken early in next year's draft. And Clayborn headlines a very strong class. Clausen got hosed, but so did Colt McCoy. Partly because of Tebow getting taken 2 rounds early, and largely because teams like the Bills were absolutely stupid, drafting people they didn't need when they had a big hole at QB.
