Should The BIG Network Pipe In Noise And Fans In Broadcasted Games?

I heard on the Radio the Fox network will be putting fake fans in the stands in their broadcast of MLB baseball games. It made me think and wonder if the BIG should do that broadcasting BIG 10 games. The quietness of the game on TV might be the weirdest thing about watching the game. It could be interesting, though, hearing what might be yelled by a QB or others I guess. But, fake fan noise could make it seem more natural.
 
I'm a soccer fan so between different pro leagues and the MLB games last night I've come to the conclusion that I'm not a fan. I can tolerate the crowd noise being pumped in, although to me it just seems weird since we all know there's no crowd. I cannot and will not get behind the fake fans though. Cutouts, mannequins, sex dolls (actually used by a South Korean soccer club), any of that stuff just seems creepy to me and I can't support it.

Yea, when you're watching a football game, they don't show the fans all that much anyway. A subtle fake crowd noise may help though.
 
I'm okay with PA systems pumping in some crowd noise. The Minnesota Vikings did back in the Metronome era so its not unheard of even with fans in the stands.

But I do think the ADs need to get together and decide the noise level limits and make sure their being followed. I think its good for the players to have the music/fan noise/atmosphere as normal as possible. And there should be somewhat of a home field advantage.
 
When there's no crowd and everyone is aware of it, then what is the point of putting posters in the seats or piping in music. We are all aware of what is going on and the experience for players, coaches, and fans is as far from normal as you can get so why try to normalize it. It is what it is and no matter what they do to try to recreate it or make it any less weird is not helping.

It wasn't used in Carver during the Lickleiter years so why should it be used now.

I really think they need to talk to the players about this as they are the ones who are affected. Do they want the noise or some level of noise which can be crowd noise and some music and some hawkeye band music like their drum rolls and other usual in-game music they play.

For the TV viewers I think the color commentator and analyst will be talking plenty that will add audio sound.

Maybe the stadium and home team could have an announcer to blast out the players names and stats on big plays as "petras to laporta for 20 yards and a first down". I think the players would like to hear that maybe with some dialed down crowd noise behind it. "Sargent for the 5 yard touchdown", "sack by Gholston and so and so"
 
I heard the stadium staff at Nebraska are being required to put cow dung in each seat so they can still claim their consecutive sell out streak during these pandemic games. If they are willing to go to those lengths to keep this ongoing lie alive...well...my toilet seat is down for them.

I wasn't initially thinking about them piping noise into the stadiums but more just on the broadcast for those watching.

Ahh I see. Players and teams can generate their own enthusiasm with their own cheering. But it seems like the players might like some noise also.

It made me think of Will Smith in I am Legend when he set up mannequins and would talk to them. I need someone to run by giving the cut outs high fives, and autographs.
