Set your VCR

I remember sitting in front of the Tv with fingers and arms crossed and when it went through the goalposts I jumped up off the floor and just about knocked myself out hitting the swag light hanging over the Tv. I also taped that game and still have the original tape but I made Dvd from it. It's still a rush yet today seeing it again. GO HAWKS!!!!

Just watched the game. I remember the excitement going on when this game was being played live. I can't imagine the hype it would get if it was played today with the expansion of the number of cable stations, internet, etc. I did notice when the introductions of the offense that 6 of the 11 starters were from Iowa. I didn't catch where all the starters on the defense were from as I don't believe they were shown.

One of the best games ever! I kept the vcr running for the 1985 season feature. This will go well with my 1986 Hawkeye schedule mirror above my TV. I plan on re-watching this several times.

A few thoughts, the crowd noise rule was stupid! What is this tennis? Second Halverson was in on that TD. Third Long should have won the Heisman.

On a side note, is anyone ever afraid that when you watch this that you will enter an alternative reality or a parallel dimension where he misses the kick? Every time I watch that I am so happy at the end to be in the reality where "It's good its good it's good!" Hawks win! Iowa 12 Michigan 10. Didn't Zabel accidentally say 11 rather than 12 though? Either way Hawks Win!

They were originally shown. Remember, this was formatted into a 2-hour program. Ironically, some edit guy thought it hilarious to leave the CBS studio break-in highlight of Bo Jackson on a long TD against Georgia Tech in the cut.

It also amazed me that Ara Parseghian sounded clueless at times. Musberger was Musberger, of course. Any of us around in the 80s remember what a d-bag he could be when he would blow into Vito's on a Friday night. Tool.

Does anyone know where I could get full audio copies of Jim Zabel's broadcasts? This game and others would be awesome to listen to.

I would start with going to WHO website. Or just google "Jim Zabel radio broadcast archives" or something similar.

I remember after the game Schembechler bitchin' that Iowa didn't deserve the win because they didn't even score a TD, conveniently ignoring the fact that the officials screwed us out of one.
